I don't want to come off as angry or pretentious, but I find what's going on with Avinox and the Spesh "class 2" emtb disgusting. I'm curious how the people at traditional bike companies feel about what they're helping proliferate into our world for all of the people who created and maintain the trails (mostly volunteers like myself) to contend with. How conflicted are they? Between the general financial malaise in the industry, 32" wheels nobody truly seems excited about, and the unprincipled embrace of avivox/DJI/amflow, what is general morale like? Conversely, and assuming everyone there isn't also yelling at...

Hey all, I can finally take off my very sneaky blue tape camouflage to reveal that yes, I’m reviewing the new Nomad. Because I’ve spent so many years on the old Megatower, I’m framing this as a Megatower vs. Nomad comparison. Especially interesting for me because of the rumors that the Megatower is going away and the new Nomad does not take 29” rear wheels. I only have a couple rides in on the new bike, but so far the geometry feels really good and the bike feels solid and stout. Weirdly I haven’t been able to figure out the...

I can confirm this to some degree. The upcoming e-bike from Specialized is the long-travel Levo EVO - 180mm front, 170mm rear, more rowdy intentions than the regular Levo. Launch of the Demo 11 is also imminent. I've got nothing new to tell about that one, we've all seen it in action at this point.
Except there is no "flurry of 32 inch releases" and there wont be for some time (, if ever). I predict that a lot of the big-brand 32" bikes will never really be released to market and instead take the form of small batch, not publically available racing-team special editions - like the upcoming Trek XC bike.

The new Nomad's downtube is skinny compared to the Bronson, and SC says the Nomad is more flexy than their previous frames for better riding comfort.

I really, really hope that's just a weird optical illusion and the glovebox door doesn't actually protrude out of the frame like that... Anyways, the geometry of the new Nomad is somewhat on the conservative side, as per usual with Santa. Size large has 475mm of reach, 643mm of stack, a 77° STA, a 64° HTA and 443mm chainstays. That's...

Curmudgeon moment incoming, my apologies: This is exactly the reason I don't give a shit about motocross or cars or a million other things. I 100% don't give a shit about numbers. "Oh, but this one can do 150nm of power!" Cool. I don't care. I don't ride a bike looking for the easiest way to do anything. Does it do 150nm of making my will to live stronger? Will it do a 30-second boost mode of shutting my brain off? Is it 1300W of power that'll die in a year and completely brick the bike for two months while...

Hopefully a new tempo! That bike looked like a ton of fun besides the headset cable junk. I feel like tons of people are moving towards 130-140mm bikes and ditching big enduros. They are missing out on that market currently. Side note: does it seem like commencal has been losing steam lately? From prob 2018-24ish they were releasing a ton of stuff and doing quick updates. Lots of press coverage also. Honestly I forgot what a new meta even looked like until I looked at their website today. Maybe the economy along with the 100 World Cup teams they title...

Honestly, thank god... I couldn't care less about 32" wheels. Im closer to buying a 27.5" bike 32" one.

I can confirm that Specialized will reveal a new generation of the Specialized Epic this month. I can also confirm that the new model definitively rolls on 29" wheels. From what I'm hearing, the folks at Specialized who executively get to make the decision on these kinds of things are not convinced that 32" wheels are universally beneficial for all...
