4/2/2026 1:38pm For all the discussion on what Specialized is releasing - Reading on other forums, it seems like it is not a 130/140 trailbike (which I was hoping for), but a new, lighter, even more race focused Epic, without in-frame storage etc. Only 2 years since the Epic 8 dropped, so it seems a bit early. But they are probably fast-tracking the drop for this new "epic 9" so they dont have to wait a year longer when they inevitably drop a 32" XC bike next time around.

4/2/2026 1:35pm I feel like a lot of April fools jokes are like satire sites writing about the current regime in the US....you can make up something completely unhinged and at this point I'm like yeah....I'd believe that.....keep scrolling.... I think iFixit did a good job this year when they said Apple was recalling Macbook Neo's because they made it "Too repairable"....You could do the same to a lot of bike parts companies!

4/1/2026 2:49am 32" wheels will unironically require a new/different hub standard with wider flange spacing anyways, so why not increase the bolt pattern diameter for the disc mount while we're at it?

4/1/2026 5:03am This thing is honestly based a.f. The explanation of why an additional 7 kg of weight supposedly won't really affect your climbing seems extremely contrived, but then again, I bet this thing rides genuinely awesome on the descends.

3/31/2026 11:50pm Really interesting podcast about/with Rose bikes from Escape Collective; I'd heard of the brand but never knew much about them. https://share.transistor.fm/s/8910c296 Some key stats: Been around for 107 years Have never taken a loss (like, what!?) ~€205M annual revenue ~650 employees "Family owned, management run" Managed to pull off 2% growth in 2025 AND migrate to an ERP at the same time (would love a deeper dive on that alone!)

3/31/2026 11:46pm Nah, April Fools is totally a thing we’re doing here too. For us Germans, it’s one of the extremely rare occasions when our culture permits you to act a little silly or pull a good-natured prank on your workplace colleagues and not get the condescending stare of death in return.

3/31/2026 10:36pm I do not believe the rumors about chisels and epic evos being done. Specialized straight up lied when they released the stumpy 15, saying they were not going to release an Evo. A rep let slip that they were saving the moniker for “something special” but “official sources” kept saying “oh no no stumpy Evo just a stumpy from here on out.” Obviously that was not the case. Brands are fighting viciously to clear old inventory, and the worst thing that could happen to a 2022 chisel sitting on a sales floor somewhere is news of a new chisel on...

3/31/2026 2:19pm European retailer just leaked new Marin downcountry bike. Marin TAM XR - 2026 – Simple Bike Store Not the prettiest frame I've ever seen but with the rumored death of the Chisel I'd say there is space for an aluminum DC rig. 130mm front, 65 degree HTA. Release date looks like 4/17 according to the Marin website.

3/28/2026 2:18am Had an interesting chat yesterday, during a group ride with a product manager from Conti. Apparently management of the bicycle division at Conti is not yet convinced that 32"-wheels will become a mainstream wheelsize, let alone are even here to stay. The guy told me that he personally believes this to be a repetition of the 650B-Plus situation. Conti anticipates...

3/27/2026 11:36pm Unfortunately I'm an idiot, so I'll answer your question even if it is sarcastic. I found a known value that's easy to measure, the rear brake rotor. I set it to 203mm (as mentioned in a bike check from my memory) 16.2cm = 6.377 inch, rounded up however the app used rounds things and also not a perfect angle. Closest match for phone size would be a Iphone 16/17 pro max at 16.3 cm or a google pixel 9/10 at 6.3 inches. I'm going to go with the iphone 16/17 pro max. I should touch grass. I'm also either going...

3/22/2026 11:57pm Just got this from Knolly: A Message from Noel Buckley I'm going to keep this simple because you deserve that. The last few years have been the hardest this industry has ever seen, and Knolly has not been immune. But we have been fighting through it: restructuring costs, tightening operations, and doing the difficult work of right-sizing the business to match a new reality. We were making progress. That progress was cut short. Our bank, RBC, has made the decision to call in our account. This comes at a time when RBC is posting record annual profits, $20.4 billion last...
