Has to be the Ransom. The Ransom is literally the strongest enduro bike frame you can buy from any major manufacturer, so it takes to this rather nicely.

Has Intense moved past their "2015" geometries at all?

That's a bit unfair on Canyon, they make much better bikes than Intense do

-The managers of Zone5 are Specialized employees. -Their headquarter is in a Specialized building. -Zone5 owns 25% of Outside. -PB's sister publication CyclingTips is actually disclaiming the connection. They do however claim that "Zone 5 Ventures has no influence on our editorial coverage at CyclingTips", but that is exactly what they would say, isn't it?
The managing partners at Zone5 are both employees at Spec, appears to simply be Spec's venture arm. https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/zone-5-ventures The privacy policy link on the Zone 5 website even simply links out to Spec's privacy policy Also looks like they're 1:4 of the investors in Outside Media, https://www.crunchbase.com/search/principal.investors/field/funding_rou…

I've been saying this since Outside acquired Pinkbike. I'm actually the person who originally posted this connection under the Pinkbike review of the Stumpjumper Evo. So yeah, Specialized effectively now pays the Pinkbike editors wages, which certainly explains a lot of things. Pinkbike and Beta MTB have been extremely positive and enthusiastic about a lot of Specialized products lately. They've...
I believe this whole thing was covered by CyclingTips on a podcast of theirs last year. If I recall, the members of Zone5 are Specialized employees who have invested in their own company and others including Outside. CT didn't have any inside info about what was going on and did not know about it until someone else pointed it out to them. They have been adding a by-line in all of their Specialized/Rpval reviews now that state they are not influenced by Zone5. From their Diverge review: "[i]Disclosure: One of the investors in Outside Inc. — the parent company of...

So, what you are saying is that this venture capital company....whose only investor (aka all the money) is Specialized. While on paper it isn't "owned by" but they have the same offices..... aka same building. so basically is specialized. They own or have at worst case a very large share of Outside media..... Wow.... can't imagine there isn't any influence there at all.... So guess we will have to keep tabs to see what those reviews are like throughout any of the Outside Media sites are for any specialized product. also...what are they paying for advertising on the sites? or...

FullSend Added a comment about news story Kona Bought by Kent Outdoors

Kona is that one brand I always really want to like but just can't. Their bikes are great but ultimately not price competitive. The Process 153 DL for example: It's an alloy frame bike with a medium-level build kit that in Europe is sold for 4.700 €. That's just way too much money for what you're getting - it wouldn't even be a particularly good deal if it was 3.700 €.

Kent's mention of their portfolio of outdoor brands seems like a move to build consumer confidence but I have never heard of any of those brands so it seems like a misfire.

That's the shock I had and I'm confident the shock was a quality product and well damped. Just don't personally think coils belong on these bikes. You really can't 'fix' leverage ratio with damping ime. Just because you can prevent bottom outs, doesn't make it work correctly. I'm very interested in the EXT air shock and firmly believe that air suspension represents the future of MTB suspension, not coils. Moving on.

Ah I see the guy has finally developed some sense for colour coordination. That fender is very ugly though. Anyhow, this is so very much not the right bike for the job and definitley the bike Norco needed to make for EWS racing. The Sight is perfectly good and I can understand why the Gerigs would rather stay on their Sights than swap over to the Range. It's just the wrong bike for Europe.
