6/11/2025 8:08am I’m gonna be the first to say that Neko might not be the best choice for a regular commentary spot. Love hearing his insight but if we’re going to talk shit about the other two we should be real about the fact that he might not be an ideal candidate either. I also don’t think he particularly wants to be...

6/11/2025 8:01am I found it insulting to the racers and the sport. We have a bigger star from a bigger sport than mtb so let's suck up to him and not talk about the action that happening in this minor league sport. Like having Ken Roczen there some how legitimized downhill racing. It certainly doesn't hurt to recognize that legends from other sports are into dh, but a couple of quick discussions between race runs would have sufficed.

6/11/2025 8:00am I have not been a fan of the commentating for some time but this weekend marked a new low. I don’t follow moto so Ken Roczen’s presence in the booth did absolutely nothing for me — it only detracted from the viewing experience as Josh just fanned out about moto stuff rather than talking about the actual race runs taking place. Josh’s poor and regionalized vocabulary is a bad trait for a commentator and he rarely has anything of value to add. Watch a basketball game if you want to see how much a caller can contribute. Ric and Josh...

6/4/2025 4:15pm it's interesting reece brings les gets into it b/c (from the coziness of the internet, having never been to either venue) that track seems really similar to loudenvielle in that it's high speed and mostly "just dirt," no obvious rocky tech sections like vds or msa. i also thought that by race day loudenvielle was an extremely technical ride. it wasn't wheel-eating rocks, but that first steep left hander that caught people out, that left that bode burke hovered through, and all the other razor thin lines meant skill, delicate braking and bike setup was hugely important. i even find...

6/4/2025 4:13pm i mentioned in the loudenvielle thread, but no lawlor raw or pit bits vids fromt Loudenvielle, Lenzerheide, Andorra or Les Gets. we have 6 US national rounds this year that we decided to put budget into instead. our heart is with domestic racing and helping it grow. with 11 WC rounds (including world champs), we had to make budget choices and this year we had to pay 3k euro to WBD so lawlor could film (this was after our budget/race decisions were made, however). they've always let us in, but that finally ended this year. i don't blame them, it's...

6/4/2025 12:08pm Chalk another one up for 11 speed XT. Been running it since late 2019, and I just have no complaints. The only drivetrain that seems attractive to would be link glide, but those cassettes are pretty damn heavy, and I often find myself only needed to replace one drivetrain part at a time so no need to spend more than I need to.

6/2/2025 6:42am I highly doubt Wyn will have any sort of working relationship with Warner bros given how outspoken he has been about their acquisition and efforts to run the series so far.

5/27/2025 8:21pm Hans Rey is going to be like those Japanese soldiers who didn’t believe World War II was over until the 70s. He’ll still be going to trade shows and doing trials routines wearing a full blue and yellow outfit in 2035.

5/27/2025 8:21pm My guess on Wyn is he'll end up on Santa Cruz and travel with the syndicate but not actually be on the team. Maybe cannondale and doing his own thing but seems like an odd time for PON group to get rid of him.

5/27/2025 8:20pm Just tried a GX shifter on a 90 group set. Works awesome only downside is that when you try the multi shift it gets hung up on the 52th. But indexing is perfect. So you could run an X01 shifter with 90 for a crisper feel. It would work flawlessly with an e-bike X01 as it is limited to two shifts at a time.

5/25/2025 6:32am As a trail builder who likes clean forests, f*** course tape, that plastic ribbon has a way of sticking around forever. I'm talking in generalities here, not necessarily WCDH, but I'd like to see tape completely go away (same with tear-offs). Poles are a better solution, just need to use a wee bit of common sense. Stripe them if they're a caution/jump marker vs course marker. Works for color blind riders and can be done with a handy roll of gaff tape instead of having a separate inventory of markers. Just put 3 black stripes on markers that won't DQ...
