Dumb question… other than the 100k purse, is there a reason these gear box systems need to run a belt? Couldn’t they use a chain instead? Is it due to weight or something?

I think that's one of the Infinity Stones. If she gets all five, she can make half her competitors vanish with a snap of her fingers. But actually... perhaps it's a suspension setting indicator, a la Loic's much-debated handlebar LEDs? The notches around the circumference resemble the Shimano BB/Centerlock pattern. Not sure if that's just cosmetic, or if it's an actual tool fitting.

I comment on the other site, but I draw the line at pedal assist. Once you're introducing a throttle it stops being an E-MTB and starts being a motorbike with MTB geo.
