He's been on C-Dale for at least 3-4 years now.
here are some mitch-on-the-bike shots from later in that clip you pulled from. at windrock mitch just said c-dale doesn't have a DH bike, so it made sense to ride the frameworks. no idea if there's more to it.
While fact checking myself about pure agency running specialized gravity, I noticed they had Project Black listed as their brake sponsor. I tried to look them up but found nothing

sad, I was kinda hoping there would be another iteration of the prototype that ratboy and sam hockenhull rode at hardline. I believe they only had an XL mold for the old proto frame, so with nothing new under mitch I'd be surprised if we see anything this year from cannondale on the DH front.
Wait, Specialized Gravity have a 'high protein' canned meat sponsor? Maybe that's what was hiding in the frame skirt all along, snacks for Loic and Finn mid-run.
Time to make some tuna salad sandwiches to definitely get faster on the bike. /s
On a serious note, I tried searching for 'Project Black' and Brembo but nothing concrete came up other than a bunch of custom cars with black brakes.
are these not just TRP Evo Pro brakes in black? judging by the lever and bite adjust screws... and well... the exact shape of the lever body.
With all due respect to Mitch, I HIGHLY doubt he's a part of Ohlins/Brembo "test riders" when the only ones we've seen in the athlete space are Specialized Gravity.

Specialized Project Black is an internal development initiative by Specialized that focuses on creating and testing advanced pre-production cycling products in real-world scenarios. This program leverages feedback from professional athletes to refine designs, some of which eventually become available to the public. The initiative encompasses a range of components, including frames, tires, saddles, and handlebars. Notably, the S-Works Tarmac SL8 Project Black LTD frameset, initially developed for pro riders like Remco Evenepoel and Demi Vollering, was later released in limited quantities to end users.
Given the Project Black status, is Specialized partnering with someone to develop a Specialized branded Brake? Working with Lewis to knock off the TRP? Maybe Brembo since they are in pretty good with Ohlins already? None of the above?
When Ohlins made their first push into the Mtb industry they had an exclusive deal with Specialized. Seems like it worked out well for both brands so why not take the same approach for Brembo?

Can anyone explain Chris housers deal with Trek? He seems to be part of the trek team, but at the same time not part of the factory team - the only one wearing a different colour in the pre season photos and I can’t remember him being on the official team announcement .. there’s also more social media posts with him being the only one excluded
