Prototypes are for testing. Sometimes the conclusion of a test is that it's not a better bike, or not commercially viable. So you don't put it into production.

You are quite an outlier in body proportions so I get why you don't fit on the V10 well but to call it out as having outdated geometry is questionable when really your fit needs scale to something more like an XXL. Anyway good luck, I'd imagine getting the right fit is hard with a +4 inch ape index. Personally I think SC has nailed the sizing on the V10. At 6ft and a half inch I'm on the middle headset cup and long chainstay setting and it's great. Stable and agile and without a doubt the most confidence inspiring...

Correct, though as of last year Float X2 is no longer twin tube and has moved to a mono-tube design. We kept the X2 designations to help the majority of riders understand what product relates to what category and what adjustments they can expect on the product.

Not specifically tied to Fox, but in general launching at Otter has lost its luster. You spend a year and tons of money developing a product. It gets shared on the media at Otter and then gets shuffled to the bottom of the page pretty quick because so many new things are coming at the same time. Launching just before Otter gives more time of consumer attention and then gets seen again at Otter. I think that trend will continue with less and less officially launched at Otter, especially for those with significant marketing budgets.

You're an amateur. I carry a ton of tools, but every other year or so something goes so horribly wrong I STILL have to walk back to the car. Bikes are pretty good though. My proudest trailside repair was actually roadside...blew a shifter cable 40 miles from home on a cold February day on my gravel bike. I had an extra cable in my little revelate gas tank bag. Fixed it, rode home.

You’re treating wheel size in a vacuum and ignoring the physics of scaling an entire bike around a tall rider. Yes, shorter riders might miss out on some of the theoretical roll over benefits of larger wheels. But tall riders pay elsewhere: longer wheelbases, slower handling, compromised front-center to chainstay balance, and a higher center of mass. Those are all very real practical disadvantages. I just hope all the light/medium technical trails survive this XC Renaissance 32" madness. Ever since gravel bikes got popular, it seems like it has become standard practice to turn any non black diamond trail into a dirt version of a paved road. Kind of seems like everything is either a flow trail/fire road or the gnar gnar these days, and nothing in between.
