I know this is a setup discussion thread, but did want to chime in on something I find interesting. It seems like everyone of the press release images has like 25mm or more of headset spacers under the stem. If that is how you want to present the bike, and hint that it's where the bars should be, then maybe just add +10 or so to your stack height. I get that people look at reach and ignore stack, but lets be honest. a 480 bike with 25mm of spacers is a very similar if not identical to a 470ish...

Here's my experience on the new Maven B1 I decided to try out the B1 Mavens after my Radics started losing pressure (both side MC bores had scratches). I don't get it. If a grade is so steep I need lower than 51/30 on a 29er, it's too steep to be climbed up anyways. In Utah, we have plenty steep climbs, and I use 51/32

Considering your bike has a ratio of 1.93 which is quite very very high, that makes sense. You need to be way lower and over the front for any traction on that bike. This in an XL is 1.82, therefor, low stack will just be a load more front end weight through geo than you are used to. Thats where the higher stack would aid in a better feeling (subjective) riding position and still maintaining good front end weight. You don't NEED to ride over the front as heavily anymore because the geo already naturally is giving you more front...

For my rides, that are all either winch and plummet or fire road climbs, I can't stand up or I'll lose rear traction. On road climbs I do stand here and there to stretch the legs and change up body position, but its only for a few seconds at a time.

I think I get what you’re saying. If you have to do some hard braking and you displace your lever 30mm to get pad contact but your entire braking zone is only 3mm AND the lever pull is extremely light I can see how you’re more likely to overshoot your braking. If your lever has more resistance, then the lever will not be moving as fast when it makes first contact with the pad, potentially allowing for some more modulation. The lever itself may only weigh a few grams but the bearings in the dominion levers undoubtedly removes a lot...

Please fish for some info about the possibility of using the new suspension layout on a pedal friendly bike. Not ebike. What I'm reading from you is that closing the pad gap is what gives you arm pump. Not the fact that you then need to pull the finger orders of magnitude more strongly when actually applying the braking force. I.E. Dominions with their apparently high lever force required to get enough braking force from them would give you less arm pump than a Brake requiring less lever force but a higher starting...

Yes and no. The amount of brake torque applied to stop a rider from a given speed to a desired speed is not the same for different weights. We are going to massively simplify here and assume everyone rides the same on the same tires, rotors, pads etc..
