@Jason_Schroeder Are you able to allude to the timeline for the shorter travel version of this bike? The LT looks amazing and ticks almost every box that I want in a new bike, except Travel, I just don't need a full blown Enduro bike anymore. A 130-140 version of this bike would be perfect.

Competitive Cyclist mentioned another color option for a Yeti LT frameset in their video with just performance shock but now the video got edited without that option. Strange. I guess more lower options to come.

The LT looks pretty rad. I actually think lower stack is the move, I got an XL Hightower 4 recently with a 658 stack and I had to lower the stem pretty far to get it to corner how I prefer. would rather have a 640ish stack and run a big riser bar.
I'll look forwards to getting one on a 40% sale from Backcountry in 4 years... $8400 for a complete or $5k frame is indefensible for a non ebike IMO.
also regarding the Airtag integration: is there a product niche for a a more difficult to remove tracking component? For example, what about a bottom bracket that has the electronic guts of an Airtag in the shell, and you need some kind of special keyed BB tool to get it out (like wheel locks on a car). Kind of a ridiculous paradigm we're in here- "I need to install electronic anti-theft stuff on my $10k pedal bike"

Considering your bike has a ratio of 1.93 which is quite very very high, that makes sense. You need to be way lower and over the front for any traction on that bike. This in an XL is 1.82, therefor, low stack will just be a load more front end weight through geo than you are used to. Thats where the higher stack would aid in a better feeling (subjective) riding position and still maintaining good front end weight. You don't NEED to ride over the front as heavily anymore because the geo already naturally is giving you more front end bias.

Carbon is conductive, and hence a pretty good shield for RF. Placing an Airtag inside of a Carbon or metal frame would degrade signal strength pretty severely.

yep absolutely. we might be at another rung in the ladder of geo evolution here. a really long wheelbase and high stack feels amazing for plowing straightline chunk, sleeps etc. but you loose some agility and an active riding style over the front is harder (i really enjoy loading up the front wheel and doing sharp cutty turns). But also, we're used to "last gen" geo concepts (short wheelbase low stack) and need to learn new riding styles. it’s dependent on terrain and rider height/body proportions too of course.

Calculating the rider triangle and sizing, mathematically, we can fit similarly but just change the hinge at the hips and body positioning. Bringing the leverage back higher with the stack, you gain back some 'agility' and being able to ride 'active'. You can still definitely load up the front end if thats what you are after.
It's definitely just a different flavor to set up. I think most folks (not saying you) dont fully grasp the bigger picture of the whole geo that needs to be in order for it to kind of create harmony without all the drawbacks everyone gripes about being afraid of.
Also some just get used to certain geos and thats al they care to ever know now.

Yeah, my iPhone even warns me that there is an AirTag near me on most flights I take now, since a lot of people throw them in their luggage. Of course Apple does this since people have used AirTags to track unsuspecting people for nefarious purposes, but this makes it difficult to use them to defeat all but the stupidest of thieves.

You honestly have about 10 minutes after the bike is stolen to try and recover it... anything after that is absolutely dumb luck. In that scenario, the airtag will help you and if you have it in a place that would require seasoned bike mechanic knowledge, you'll get the 10 minutes instead of zero.
I cut the speaker out of air tags and I plant them on all of my nice bikes. It is not a solution to bike theft, but even if it adds a 5% chance that my stolen bike can get recovered, it's worth the $30 dollar price of admission.

His bikes had AirTags (in the steerer tube? forgot) and he was able to get his van, bikes, my rack + two other stolen 1-Ups and a van full of stolen power tools. The tools weren't his, but the cops said they were now. Inside of the van was torn up and smelled like a methlab…

Not me, however I did find my bike by shaking down one of the local hobos in my town. We ended up going on a pretty long walk to look for it. It was in my driveway the next morning.
Lars is able to get sick on most bikes, so that might not be the best gage on how good the bike is...
I did not expect an XL Yeti to come with 465mm chainstays in the short setting.

Bums me out stack (and head tube) is so tiny, STA is slack, and leverage aint the best for coil. Other than that, the bike is pretty dang awesome!
