Got an email response from Hayes Group when I asked about the ProTaper bars & got this response: " As it turns out we are unable to accept new purchase orders for ProTaper components at this time. This order suspension is temporary, and we will share more information in the coming weeks" Weird right?

My buddy ordered the new Propain Avinox M2S bike back in April and he received it in July. He experienced one minor delay (about two weeks from original delivery date) and Propain upgraded his fork to an Ultimate Zeb (was ordered with a Select+ model) at no additional cost.

LOL After all of those years of bro-science (cloaked as pro-science) marketing pitches about male vs. female proportions, it was fun to see how after Specialized bought Retul and logged data from 1000s of bike fit measurements, they were forced to admit that the physical measurement overlap was so huge that only unisex bikes really made sense...

In this case he is on a re-branded competitors bike and the cover is an attempt to obscure that. But yes, on the actual prototype, they should definitely remove it. Copying Diamondback’s homework from nearly 20 years ago doesn’t need hiding.

I'm surprised it took this long, the move never made sense to me since they were just selling santa cruzs in different colors with maybe a different build kit. The whole idea of bringing women's bikes back never made sense either, bikes are bikes and don't need to be gendered in some way. If Santa cruz just invested in their own image they would have been way ahead.

Record quarters followed by huge slumps. The C-suite decided to aquire a company outside of the cycling industry to hedge against further industry specific disruption. The SSG division of fox stands for Speciality Sports Group, and they wanted to cover more than one sport. There were perceived synergies in the product lines...

100%. Got back into being a summer park fiend 4 years ago almost exactly as you described, ride park all summer during the weekends and would only do big trail rides in the winter. Spent 3 of those years building up a "parked" stumpy evo, cascade, coil F&R, 180mm zeb etc. Wasn't enough, bought a proper enduro bike rallied it hard enough to break it. Had fun but yet felt that in the tech I was having to ride at 110% to keep the speed but was crashing, breaking bones and bikes... Built a Dh bike this year and wished...

Sure, that's what the short travel acoustic bike is for. I don't know about other people, but I rode lt enduro bikes because they were the fastest thing around for descending while still being able to pedal up the mountain. I was somewhat horrified to find myself cranking out faster descending times on the e-bike much of the time. Kind of ruined lt enduro bikes for me. I suppose it matters what the definition of "hardcore" means in the original comment. It sort of sounded like the intent was that e-bike riders are just muppets puttering down the blue trails...

Pretty popular here in western canada. And a blue trail here is like a double black pro line in california 😁 Long travel acoustic enduro bikes are definitely being replaced by long travel e-bikes, regardless of the rider's "hardcoreness" or the trail difficulty. It'd be a different story if there was a performance hit, but they tend to be faster descenders, in addition to being able to self shuttle back up the mountain. More laps, more performance. Hell, I ride my e-dreadnought at lift service bike parks just as often as I ride my acoustic dreadnought v2 or dh bike...

Most bikes you see people on here are long travel enduro. That will be the next bike I buy. There is a market.
