7/4/2025 4:45am I'm sure I'll get hate for this, but I'm not sure a dh race is the place to bring your dog. I've had enough issues with trail dogs (I feel pretty strongly that most dogs shouldn't come along for the ride and aren't as great on the trail as their owners say they are) and not sure massive crowds full of yelling, screaming people is the place to bring your dog.

7/4/2025 4:44am So Sram are playing with a lighter pull setup... Even though "everyone" swears blind that the heavy pull is the bESt thINg EvAr. This U-turn is nearly as funny as the "we will never make a mineral oil brake". They would make an incredible political party with plays like this.

7/4/2025 4:43am Based on where that 2mm bolt sits, it looks like they've reworked the SwingLink (26 in first diagram) to be more like the Pushrod (18 in second diagram) in the Base lever. Appears that it's adjustable as well. More/less leverage is my guess. Ultimate / Bronze Base

7/4/2025 4:42am I don’t think it’s silly if a rider wants a different character than the frame was designed with. Neko made a video testing different AR configurations and basically said its rider dependent on what they want.

7/4/2025 4:41am Hey y'all something going on in these Maven levers in the pits at La Thuille. Heard from Alan Muldoon at MBR that the Canyon DH team had these same gold cams in their Mavens at Leogang. Any theories? More leverage? Less leverage? More ramp? Less ramp?

7/4/2025 4:39am To be specific, the clapped out remains of the entry level Scott with a quick hose down at the end of each day will be the "premium" rental option.

7/4/2025 4:38am I had a Mojo with X-Fusion. Friend was the local dealer and got offered a deal. Idea was to swap parts over time. It ended up with Fox 36 and CCDBA and full XT groupset as things wore out and items were in the sale. Still worked out cheaper than buying a better spec to begin with and I had it exactly how I wanted it.

7/4/2025 4:34am These builds always perplex me. "Yeah, I definitely need a carbon frame on my DH bike... but the base model Boxxer and Vivid, and the MT520 brakes should be fine, right?"

7/2/2025 5:08am For those looking for free ways to solve the maths.... I've used python + sympy for solving symbolic equations then using jupyter notebook as a handy way to visualise.

7/2/2025 5:07am A combination of mathematica and 2D sketches in CAD. I write out all the equations using whichever variables I want to change and then use mathematica to solve them and generate plots. Conceptually all the equations are simple. I like doing it this way because it makes you really understand everything that's going on, it's quick to iterate dimensional changes, and I can come up with pretty much any metric I want if something out of the ordinary makes a comparison better. For example, those plots I posted about ramp in leverage curve vs ramp in damping force as you'd...

7/2/2025 5:00am I love trails, building them and riding them. I searched for a generic trail thread on here and didn't really find one, if I'm wrong and one exists feel free to delete this. I envision this as a thread to discuss general trail maintenance, routing discussions, land manager relationships, rogue trails, and all other things trail building. Post what you're working on if you're willing. I'll hopefully grab some pics soon of a jumpy little xc line I've been working on that I'm excited about.
