I got some new tires, inserts, tape, and sealant. Kryptotals, which ended up being some of the tightest beads I’ve ever tried to put on. Front went on well. Back broke two tire levers. The second broke as the tire went on, so I had to crack it open to get the lever piece out. Got some sealant in, and tried pumping it up. And tried again, and again and again and again. I couldn’t get it to seat. Let it sit in the sun, used some soapy water, everything. Finally, finally the bead was seated and it held air...

I've gone back and forth between owning a dedicated DH bike and long travel FR bikes over the years. I've netted out that I prefer just having a full DH bike in the quiver at all times; they just erase things in a way the shorter travel can't - especially over a multi-day bike park trip. However, when the Shore came out it seemed like it was the perfect solution for what I wanted, essentially a full DH bike with a pedal-able seat tube angle, so I picked one up and it's been awesome. Few details about the new PP bikes : - Shan n°6 : 160mm enduro bike (n°5 has 140mm), 64.5° HA, 450mm CS length - Shan DH : no details but looking good with a similar layout but specific ratios.

i asked about aluminum vs "real" molds for the yeti and was told they were real molds, not temporary. but, as noted in a few pit bits and things over the season, all the frame-specific component pieces are still just 3d printed at yeti. was also told production of this bike is the last thing on their minds right now, so...

on the topic of steep, tricky tech vs speedy motorway, it's almost that every is so good anymore that times are going to be tight no matter what the track. we've had enduros with 40-minute total times separated by a few seconds. the elite men top 5 from MSA last year were within 1.1 seconds of each other, the top 3, only .5 apart. i think it's just the sport now, and it'll be rare to see 8-second blow-outs anymore. msa 2024

On a more serious note; Not sure if this is the place, but I'm getting a little concerned over rider safety (also posted in the Leogang thread). I'm a big fan of the LCQ, I think it's brought a lot of excitement to the weekend. BUT when it's brought in in conjuncture with a concerted effort to speed up tracks (correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems lots of corners are either being removed or sped up). I think the execs ( I believe this also was a thing in the RB days) think high speeds and big jumps...

It's nice to hear the course crew acknowledged that spot was too much of a G out at speed and riders could not control the lip, particularly with a lovely bit of side wind... So they took the time to shave off the kick on that lip so riders could survive at race pace and not lose it all to a little breeze. Downtime podcast has been doing AMAZING post race recaps with Neko. One of my favorite race time productions considering its on site information, right after the race, straight from the horses mouth (more or less)

I have heard his name before but certainly don't know who he is. The coverage from this weekend, with his input, was very good. He shows what a true professional looks like. I can't recall him dropping the F-bomb the whole time he was aired, and his comments were well measured. I think having that type of influence on the World Cup can only be a good thing.
