with significantly expanded access to various outside the norm construction techniques.... will more small boutique makers be able to ramp their mfg capacities in the shrinking market? combined with inflationary affects and DTC sales, it seems like we could see a bunch of weird bikes being better available int he coming years, if the economy doesn't kill the makers and designers off..... wound carbon, epoxy and printed lugs seems like I could do it, and im an idiot.

So... In terms of triple headers, this has got to be the best venue on the UCI MTB circuit right? The downhill track is sick, the XC track nearly looked like an enduro track I saw dudes gapping rock gardens on 120/120 bikes... And the enduro looked gnarlier than the DH including a night stage (on maybe the hardest section). Not sure how many other triple headers there are, or even double headers for that matter... But wow this new venue seems to have done everything 'right'

Cannondale’s Bad Habit is one of those bikes that sells the do-everything experience. It’s an enduro race bike. It’s an all-mountain adventure vessel. It's playful enough to rip a bike park. It’s ready to go for an all-day pedal. I generally appreciate bikes like this because if you can afford only one bike to serve most use cases, it’s often money well spent. However, striving to maximize versatility can lead to mediocrity. That’s the line bikes like the Bad Habit walk. When the bike launched , it caught my attention because it was spec'd like an enduro bike (minus...

How many root canal do I need to perform to be able to afford one ? Is the downtube storage called the floss box and if not why ? Is that turquoise Chris King headset stock on all build kits ? Is the LT 180mm dual crown compatible ? I am counting atleast 14 bearings counting the trunion one ? Is Yeti following SC and Spec footstep and giving out first owner free replacement bearing ? Single chainstay length on all size or they grow with frame size & the replaceable dropout give the option for longer chainstay. Most likely...

Sharing some relevant bits from a text conversation with a friend of mine in the industry. They preferred to remain anonymous because they didn't want forum-dwellers mailing a bomb to their house: "Food for thought on brake rotors. I think anyone who’s making rotors in volume is not laser cutting. The super rounded edges on shimano rotors appear to be a choice. I’d bet significant sums of money that smaller brands do laser cut rotors because it’s easily accessible. [i.e. laser cutting and/or machining is cheaper at low volumes than stamping] Stamping introduces stress but so does laser cutting. Both...

If you had asked me a couple of weeks ago, "What are the chances you buy a Yeti in the next 6 months?" I would have said 0%. Today, 80%.

I am going to be completely transparent here in that I work for FSA, but I will say I worked really hard on making the 31.8 40mm Gradient alloy bar one of the most compliant on the market. and here is the proof: (chart from PB article)
