New Dual Slalom Course - Yay or Nay? Dual Slalom has been kind of controversial with its new location and minimal effort put into the course. Instead of the traditional combo of groomed, deep bowl corners and rhythm lanes mixed with some natural turns, this year is 100% natural, grass turns without a jump or berm in sight. The location, off the DH shuttle road, prohibited any digging due to utility and infrastructure elements underground apparently. Does it feel like a "pro" race? Not really. Is the racing going to be good? Definitely. Today's pro qualifying was exciting and fast...

Well, considered yourself lucky that PFR did not reach out to you for you to be part of their team nor does the manager wants to sleep with you. Besides, they been together for 2 or 3 years at this point. You would think that if it was as predatory as you are making it out to be he would have dumped her pretty quick. To be clear, I was also questioning the whole thing early on when they kind of went public, but I reserved my judgment because I have no clue how the whole thing came to be...

Although the PFR team looks more relaxed than other factory teams, it does not make them a bad team. Sure, it is not a big factory team with a big budget, but they have their system that works for them and had some pretty good seasons in the past - 2023 and 2024 were pretty good. I think the addition of Dylan and a fired up Roger Viera is going to elevate this team and make them more competitive. Dylan is going to do great at PFR!

In my DH racing days I would turn to the Maxxis Shorty when conditions got blown out and really loose. Probably 40% of race day action in northern UT. With the better mixed use knobby layout of the Argotal and HR3 I'd probably pick them for 60-70% of race day runs. Last year I was helping to sell tires for Conti at the Solitude Monster Energy Cup DH race. By the last day of practice everyone was only asking for Argotals and Pros were running them front and rear.

To his credit, Clay Harper (or is it Porter) says every year he wants to keep the track something that everyone can race on. Amateurs and pros. But man, it would be so much better to see the pros race on a course that challenges them a bit more. Every year you hear the pros talk about how flat the course is. Makes for tight racing, but kind of boring to watch. The one year they had it off the top of the gondola it poured on race day. Track was steep and gnarly though.
