It used to piss me off when I win / podium a race, and the race promoter's would omit my sponsor's (typically a bike shop) name from a results page--especially when...position 9 would have their sponsor listed because it was more important (a bike brand or something cooler than a bike shop). The dull ache. Walk around for a day with your elbow tucked in. Empty the dishwasher with your other hand. Watch out when you wake up, that’s when it’s loosest. Feels okay in the shower, until…dammit why did you get so wild on the towel-off?—you know that’s dangerous! Maybe sit up a little straighter on the drive out there, yeah you can kinda just make sure to heel it tucked a bit. Still strong. Got this. Just take it sorta easy and we’ll break out the stretchy bands again on Monday. Of course. This’ll never happen again. Duh. oh well it’s not that bad. Kinda got lucky, really. It’s actually a good thing, a bit of a reminder.

I think the presentation lacks character - like it does't really scream that it's an extreme sport. Not even on the same level that the Isle of Man motorbike footage does. The coverage/comentators aren't terrible in my opinion (they could be more dynamic though). Rider commentary is often good.
I would love to see qualies (even just as a round up). Are the commentary team up to speed on what happened during qualifying beyond looking at the entry list?
The show actually seems very rushed, I think the mens final is shorter than it used to be on Redbull. A rider crashes and their run is done a lot of time on screen. The earlier riders get very little TV time.
To few riders in the mains. This is just statistics, DH is unpredictable. It's great without protected riders, but you need a bigger field to offset how unpredictable racing is.
To large an overall field still? Cut the amount of racers that can enter overall, top 80 in Mens Race for quali? Less track degredation (a more predictable track), more practice / more schedule flexibility if it rains. It would also place more importance on national/ixs series.
More Splits. The live graphics that Redbull used were good.

I get missing the Red Bull free coverage, and I agree the commentary and broadcast quality still have room for improvement compared to then WB started. But if you're in New Zealand, it's actually one of the cheapest places in the world to watch the World Cup. MTBWS TV is only US$5.99 a month, which is about NZ$10, because New Zealand doesn't have a Warner Bros / Discovery broadcast partner and they use their own Staylive platform.
At the end of the day, that's about the price of one beer at a pub each month and less than the price of a tire for the season. We all want riders to earn more prize money, teams to survive, and the sport to grow, but that money has to come from somewhere. It's hard to argue riders should be paid more if we're not willing to spend the equivalent of one beer a month for 6 months to support the series.
The riders are NOT earning more due to the WB deal. Overall they are getting the much the same, while as the teams have to fork out more to even be present there will be less riders getting paid moving forward. The UCI is getting paid vastly more, but that increase is NOT translating into more money from the UCI into mountain biking.
It's a con job by a bloated corpulent and corrupt organization frankly.
The one survey question I was glad to see was the one that asked: "Have you ever purchased any of these items because of a professional mountain bike rider, team or event?"
I've always wondered what percentage of mountain bike riders make purchases because they're a fan of a given rider or because they believe that the bike ridden by a successful team will also improve their riding performance or enjoyment.

Between me and the GF, we have a garage full of santa cruz bikes. We started watching DH when the Peat/Minnaar/Rat (and then Loris and Luca) Syndicate was the team to watch, and they were early in getting their own independent content out on youtube.
But, she had her first SC before this. Good quality bike, sold by the local bike shop, good support from both them and SC. That led to my recent second hand Blur purchase far more than watching Goldstone ride a V10 really fast.
MTBs I own or have owned, have been from Orange, Cotic, Bird and Santa Cruz. The Orange DH team was long gone before I got into mtb, so really only Santa Cruz from that list have maintained a top level race team in any discipline in my riding lifelime.
1199 in Whistler is going to be a spectacle. After a couple days of rain the sun has come out. It was still a bit wet in a few spots but generally perfect conditions on track yesterday for first practice, and the weather looks great for seeding and racing as well. A good mix of young rippers, dark horses, and some World Cup riders. Jackson is flying, Asa and Gwin looked good too. Some other fast dudes as well but I didn't have my start list handy so I'm not sure who I was looking at. Great spectator access all along the track. The rock garden in the middle is going to be the spot to be for the Pro Men as usual. Some ludicrous speed and superhuman gaps where already being pulled in the first couple hours of practice.

Kinda sucks that the course doesn’t finish at the very bottom. None of the other WC tracks require a hike or shuttle to the finish corral.
