Mondraker is pushing into the US market. They opened a US based HQ in Boulder last year and stacked their team with US and global talent to reach the US market. https://www.bicycleretailer.com/announcements/2024/01/11/mondraker-expa…

There might be a 15 percent reason why a Spanish company might be rethinking it's USA based business 😁 Daks a great rider and has made an impressive comeback but to play devil's advocate and assuming it's contract renewal time at Mondraker , Pinky looks like he could crack on and is still young and Dunne has won you 2 world cups so you'd probably want to keep them , so do you re sign Dak or do you look at those junior results and think blimey those kids are fast let's get one of those guys on a 5...

I can confirm Jackson was genuinely happy to win the World Championship

Loic’s dad is 10x masters champ. You don’t think he has been grooming Loic since a kid? I take it as Jackson had a passion early on and his parents supported it. I find it odd that this forum is about how riders celebrate after the win. I want to see hype, emotion and psych after they cross the line. Everyone who finishes a run at this level deserves to celebrate regardless of how they end up. Henri was showing disbelief and respect, but Jordan wasn’t even able to fake the golf clap right next to him.

Can’t imagine being anything other than very much pro- Boost Bro. He seems to like riding bikes as much as anyone on the planet. Does psycho DH lines at mega speed and could probably break out a double backflip in a half hour again. Cmon! All while maintaining appropriate grammar for the situation: “we played to win the game” pro sportstalk in big interviews and “holy shit dude swinging off the back of it” in ripping vids. You diss JG you diss yourself!

Showing the DOUBLE FREEDOM ROCKETS to the competition all the way down the track for worlds! He needs little American flags or bald eagles on the middle finger tips next year.

Sam Hill has said before that he had to keep them quiet because the French had so many spotters everywhere (way more than other teams back then) looking to see what secret lines other people were eying up or practicing. The French have been on it for a lot longer than anyone else when it comes to World Champs.

welcome to all the greats of their time. Nico, Sam Hill, Gwin (and others) keeping lines quiet until race day and then sending them. I don't think amateurs really understand the value of line choice and walking the tracks.

I think it's pretty easy to root for Jackson when he pulls out some insane gap in his finals run that no one else has done. Seems to be a regular occurrence

On the Downtime pod they were saying that for a practice day at worlds, Amaury was following Max and getting his lines, and having to push to keep up. The biggest name on one of the biggest teams following a junior is definitely a sign of what's to come when they get to elites. Those juniors are insane.

I just mounted a Hans Dampf rear with a Radial Magic Mary up front on my 130mm bike and it feels very fast pedaling. Much faster than the Xynotal in the rear. I’ve got a Big Betty I’m going to try for less XC terrain too. Schwalbes prices are spot on. $65 for the trail casing Hans and $80 for the trail casing Betty.

I run a radial front and a standard tacky chan rear, radial is in gravity pro, tacky chan is in super gravity. I can't imagine having the radial rear makes all that much difference in traction etc but it will definitely help with small bump compliance.

Geometry was under the bike designer's total control though. With the benefit of hindsight, it turns out Chris Porter was right all along and almost everyone else had to be led by the nose to where we are today.

In a nutshell: a suspension setup with a soft, but progressive spring setup with firm compression damping and fast rebound. A bit different than the historic, stereotypical elite racer setup – extra firm everything.
