Yes. The reason I call these a 4+2 is because they're working on the same principle that Knollys do. There are 6 bars in total in the suspension design, but only 4 determine axle path.

I'm almost certain, I think it might be their way of changing the braking characteristics a bit like how teams will mess with floating brake arms. Either that or they're testing shock leverage separate from axle path.

Adam Brayton trolling Bernie is one of the greatest internet gags of all time. My personal favorite was the 'public bike park' series feat Roidy 🤣

Out of interest did you see Adam Brayton's track walk vid at the Wales event? At one point he mentioned a line where there was a gentleman's agreement the previous year, which he said BK then broke. 🤷‍♂️

Long ramble, sorry. Just offering a different perspective from this because my first reading of the podcast episode was completely different. I listened to the whole podcast. I think the answer BK gave seemed accurate and I didn't hear it as complaining (and he even said in the podcast that it's going to sound like sour grapes coming from him). Did you listen to the whole podcast? What was the question Elliot asked again: "How has Hardline changed?" He described a particular way it changed: It used to be everyone being cool and helping each other and racing in an...

Can you imagine how many they could sell if these were just integrated into a seatpost? They could make literally DOZENS of dollars. Every “fast” guy at the bike park would have one.

Quick Note - A federal appeals court ruled 7-4 that most of Trump's sweeping global tariffs are unlawful. When I first heard this I thought "this could be really good". As I dug in further, I realized this will be appealed at the Supreme Court. Considering the makeup of the court, I'm guessing the ruling will be reversed. To add, the administration could pivot to alternative legal bases or new EAs to reimpose similar measures (sigh). Hence, my thoughts are to continue operating as if we'll continue to deal with these tariffs head on, as they are currently "on the...

One of the reasons I think Jeff's right about the barbell theory of pricing is that there's so much stinking money out there at the top end of the tax brackets right now. There's a shocking amount of people who live in Makebelieveland and are just looking, itching, for new ways to burn money. There are so many people for whom a $10000 Vado Sl 30 pound e-bike is a rounding error. And for people like this, having the newest, the most expensive, or the most exclusive can serve as the entire USP for a product purchase. Bike companies will...

I understand your point, and I'm not really trying to be critical of you citing his relevant economic ideas. The info dump I posted above is just too important not to post anywhere and everywhere that intelligent people can read and understand it. On the surface it all sounds like some meth addict conspiracy theory, but these people are out in the open talking about their plans, and not nearly enough people are aware of it. I'll stop derailing the thread now. Giant has some killer deals on clearance bikes right now (2022 Stance 299 for $800!?). I just picked...

My latest mulling over the barbell effect and how it might apply to bikes. In essence, in this post I play with the idea that we're seeing a hollowing out of the middle, both with respect to company size and product pricing. // Substack // Blog EDIT: I've given @sspomer permission to post any of my stuff in full here so you don't have to click through to anything. Plus, I'm totally cool with him editing it (which I very likely need). If you all want me to aim at anything specifically for next week just let me know!

I've received emails from most component suppliers that they've raised prices 10-15%. Others who didn't send notices seem to have raised prices quietly. New product launches and updates are often price increases in disguise. The owner of Revel bikes was on national radio a few days ago saying that they'll show tariffs as line item at checkout, kinda like sales taxes. Beyond Revel, the story was of how US businesses who held off on price increases during the 90 day negotiation period are now resigned to raising prices if they want to remain viable. I've seen a few European bike-biz...
