9/5/2025 8:13am I already got downvoted for this but since we all want more linear air springs why not just do a coil Zeb? I’m planning on nokening my Zeb so I’m pro-your setup but I think there is a proven market for a coil RS product given all the conversions and how much people like them (especially eeb riders it seems)

9/5/2025 8:13am Literally cannot hurt to have coil as an aftermarket option or spec option on a-la-carte style builds. Air is the obvious choice for OEM still but many people (including me) would enjoy the option to buy a coil if we wish.

9/4/2025 2:04am To me it just seems like a bigger buttercup type thing with some preload? I don't know anyone who regularly claps out their forks enough to need a bottom out bumper, so maybe they've changed the air spring to make it hella linear?

9/4/2025 2:00am I will never forget the poor 20 year old lifty at Panorama trying to explain why the 80lb folding fat E-bikes with a 12 stack of black and chrome spacers could not go on the lift while the couple who owned them screamed at them until he allowed them to try. I later saw them riding up the hill with no helmets at what must have been 45km an hour at full throttle.

9/4/2025 2:00am Yeah dude if you don’t have a couple e-fats hanging off the back of the RV don’t even bother showing up to the 50s diner sports bar in this town. Names like PEDALOOG and VICTROX in big silver letters on the big square downtube beam member are a bonus.

9/4/2025 1:59am Around here, I mostly see FS e-MTB on trails, self-shuttling more often than not. The hot ticket for retirees is electric fat bikes. I can hear them coming up behind me when I'm riding to the pub - an odd cacophony of electric motor at full throttle mated to the thrum of overinflated 4" wide tires - and zip past doing 40 km/h, no pedalling.

9/4/2025 1:59am I'm probably repeating myself but I still see more electric full suspension MTBs on footpaths around the lake rather than in the hills because they're a good way for well-heeled retirees to get out and about in comfort. The balance has been noticeably shifting over the last year or two, though.

9/4/2025 1:55am They include the bleed cup now??? Oh man, that's quality!

9/4/2025 1:53am I never felt like the old, open-lever bleed process was that much of a hassle to begin with, apart from the little puddle of brake fluid that invariably ends up on the floor, but yes the new bleed port makes the whole thing much cleaner for sure. I've always been able to get really good bleeds without any trouble with Hope brakes, so the port is just more convenient and less messy (the process itself doesn't change, you still do a top-down bleed by pushing fluid through the system from the lever and out of the caliper end). The bleed...

9/3/2025 10:15am This is where I'm at as well. I mean... it's his team. But if I were to start dating a subordinate at my job (regardless of age difference), one of us would end up having to resign... and most likely, as the person in the position of authority, it would be me. That's pretty prevalent in company policy around the US, espcially if the person is a direct report of the person in authority (which Jenna would be to Bernard). That being said, PFR is Bernard's "company," and he can do with it as he wishes. Of course, his sponsors...

9/3/2025 10:15am The 13-14 year age difference aside, the really problematic part for me is the fact that he was/is still her boss, and that relationship began when she was a teenager. If he was her teacher or coach at school and they started dating shortly after she graduated people would be up in arms. How is this any different?

9/3/2025 10:13am I'd pay money to see Oisin on a Nukeproof. I'd also like to think the YT enduro boys would follow. MoiMoiTV would be great for rejuvenating the brand!

9/2/2025 4:49pm Go DM Fresh Paints of Whistler or ETOE or anyone else who is doing bespoke, high quality custom painting and you too will see that 3-5k is fairly market rate for top of the line work. Specialized is kinda semi production and way less cool, so it's less justified, but if someone at Seth's shop wanted to splash a ton of cash getting a true custom paint job, then it's not a surprising price. I probably have 150 hours into my Aurum and it's far from what some of these pro shops are putting out.

9/2/2025 4:49pm Yeah, it runs you up a lot of money unless you know a guy who knows a guy... Custom painting ain't for the faint of heart!

9/2/2025 12:18pm Did not realize Bosch didn't allow 3rd party batteries. I'm all here for that. The more standardizing in eebs the better. It was not fun having an aging battery on my 2020 Norco Sight and wondering if I'd even be able to get a replacement. Would it be from Shimano? from Norco? What if I wanted another one 5 years down the trail? The custom battery made the bike feel disposable which is not a good look for any bike especially ebikes.

9/1/2025 7:39am Here's my results from messing about in Linkage. The blue is my approximation of Loris' modified version, the pink is the original. Commencal seem to be going above and beyond to accommodate their riders!

9/1/2025 7:28am No, actually, you're right Primoz, ignore me! 😅 All 6 Bars are working towards axle path due to the push rod between the lower link and rocker, so for all intents and purposes, it's the same link, just upside down like how Forbiddens are an upside down horst link. Having messed with it in linkage and approximated the rear pivot...
