Speaking of which. Anyone know of bottle boss weight system? I have downtube bosses on my enduro and don’t use them for anything else. Would be fun/simple to try adding weight for park days.

Ironically I think the war in Iran and the subsequent drama in the Hormuz Strait slowing the flow of oil (resin is a petroleum product) may be disrupting their resin production.
But it’s probably more likely the EVTOL market is where that supply is being diverted to. Toray isn’t the biggest player in the defense industry, that honor goes to Syensco. Mainly because they make the resin system all the big defense contractors have been using since the 80’s.
If you’re not familiar with the EVTOL market it’s an interesting one. Basically battery powered “flying cars” to replace helicopters for short-hop flights. Companies like Archer, Joby and Wisk are all Bay Area companies. @jeff.brines has probably been keeping an eye on those stocks. With Toray having a facility in Morgan Hill it makes sense for them to work with a “local” company, same as Ibis, Specialized, Santa Cruz, etc.

The need to decrease power in order for the gearbox to shift will turn too many people off, especially on a pedal bike. Makes what Leif Rodgers is accomplishing at the ews even more impressive. Have to wonder if there is seconds lost after 30+ minutes of racing from him adjusting his power in order to shift.
Does anyone know if there is info out there on what wattage output the pinion gearbox system is limited to shifting under?

Given how few aluminium fabrication joints remain in the the USA finding similarities between brands probably speaks to them being fabricated in the same places.
If you factor in a belt (which has very specific parameters) it’s hardly surprising something looks very similar.
It would be pretty cool to see this make it to production, it’s the hype we need right now.
