I've been wondering this for some time, but what is the abbreviation "eeb" supposed to mean?
I get that it's shorthand for e-bike, but what does the acronym (or initialism or what ever other form of abbreviation it may be) actually stand for?
It means no more than this
It's a weird contraction/initialism of "e-bike" (only works in English, and I associate it w/ UK English in particular).
It may not be a "whole separate sport", but there sure is a "whole separate text thread" for the e-bike riders in my friend circle. Now we rarely have big group rides as the crew is split in two and it's a pain to ride laps with both bike types together.
So I'd say its a "whole different discipline" of pedaling a rolling thing with your feet.
As a current gen Megatower owner that looks like the shock tunnel is even bigger. Im sure it fits the big air can shocks.
This Just In!

Stark Motorcycles is going to be joining the MTB world with its EBike Called the Stark “NotaMoto”. This ebike has 80 horse power and a gear box. Apparently they made the decision to join the bike industry after one of the executives said- “I mean its all bullshit. You can buy an ebike from Specialized at the same price as our motorcycles. But with like 1/1000th the power. We should just put mountain bike wheels on a Varg and just sell it to them. Theyre just in denial that they want a motorcycle and want to pose as a mountain biker.”
Avinox refused to comment when asked about its thoughts of Starks motor capabilities.
We asked Stark what they thought about regulations. Heres what they had to say “Were just ripping the bandaid off.”
2026 and you guys are still complaining about motors on bikes. Please find a different thread.
Interested in getting people's takes on a thought experiment. I'm a purchasing a new bike and I'm considering changing up my traditional geo and doing something new. My current bikes all reside in the 450 reach, 435-440 chainstay, 1230'ish wheelbase, but before all the numbers were available I always bought a small. I'm 5'6" 175lbs short legs long torso. My new bike has optional chainstays, so I could go 450 reach, 440 chainstay, 1230'is wheelbase or I could go 430 reach with 455 chainstays and similar wheelbase. I feel like I kinda ride from the back and shifting towards a more rear bias seems like it could translate well, but I don't have issues with my current bikes. I'm curious if anybody has done the same and what were their experiences.

should have known, thanks for the link.
Thought experiment: Which ebike would you choose?
Two identical bikes - same frame size large, same price, and same spec aside from these conditions:
Bike A is Avinox M2S and 432mm chainstay.
Bike B is Bosch gen 4 and 445mm chainstay
I'd buy neither as they're both compromised. This is getting old BTW.

God I wish my Sight was raw. Also its interesting that he is using a performance fox shock instead of a Marz something.
Might be a RAD shock. Those usually don’t have Kashima.
Also, Marzocchi stickers on the fork, but that is not a production Zoke casting.
Reece got something on the dorado going on. Legs swapped + addon on the lower leg.
Either just mass damper or something like Bos did years ago?
I thought Marzocchi was out and all the freeride guys are going Fox again.
and this kid won. #weirdasfbikegoesfast
Looks like Fox had the latest X2 in a Nomad at Sea Otter so you can breathe a sigh of relief regarding large air can shocks fitting in the shock tunnel:
That air can looks a bit like the Vorsprung Secus. Wonder if it’s a similar concept.
New Schwalbe Tire in @lorisvergier story? Kinda like a Highroller 3 but the Knobs are shaped different.
Proto tyre, it was recently discussed by @schwalbai in the tyre thread.
Not exactly new new, it was seen a while ago already, from what I understood it might stay proto only for the time.
Marz has been using prior gen 40 lowers since the acquisition (among other parts). Newest 40 has an updated casting, so the marz fork will likely be getting the last gen 40 lowers.
But marz 58 was 27.5" only and that casting did not get the update
Did we get scooped by bikepacking.com?
Proto RSU 32" Fox fork: https://bikepacking.com/plog/2026-sea-otter-finds-part-three/

Oh thank goodness! I shoulda known you'd be on top of it!
The last, last gen Fox lowers suited Marzocchi as the arch was somewhat "M" shapped which was always a Marzocchi thing. Sticking the rounded arch ones on the 58 now would lose that brand differentiation a little imo. At the same time I don't see a whole lot of motivation from Fox to keep it going or invest a whole lot into it with the state off the bike industry.
