I ran into chucky in Laguna a few weeks ago and he was rocking an Ari, a huge grin and a great attitude. Dude is so nice, I miss watching him race.
WBD bounced 4 years into an 8 year contract too. bodes well for other disciplines (sarcasm).
I'm sure Redbull will be waiting in the wings ready to get the rights back for pennies as the UCI scrambles to find a partner if WB drops them. They already have the infrastructure and format ready to go.
I guess this is for South America, since it is where i am at:

Future Frameworks Development Team Announced
The Future is bright. Frameworks Bicycles is proud to announce Future Frameworks: our UCI development team. We are excited to welcome Zanna Logar (USA) and Jack Mccreddie (CAN) as first year juniors, as well as Lucas DeDora (USA) and Benny de Vall (CAN), who are joining the team for their second season in the junior category.
For 2025, UCI MTB World Series Teams can link a development team and bring up riders to compete in any World Cup race with a limit of 4 per category / 10 riders total. Through Frameworks Racing / 5DEV, we are proud to offer a pathway for these riders along with some guidance and mentorship as they start their career.
Meet the team:

I like that they're still encouraging the kids to excel at school at the same time (listing their GPAs). Way to lead by example Neko & FW.
All the big bike companies "times are tough, we have to cut back on race team budgets."
Neko "Lets start a 2nd team."
Gravity is my sport too man. Not trying to bash you. EWS pits are devoid of revenue opportunities for the event organizers.

Couple hundred bros trackside isn't profit for a promoter. Local tourism bureau is about the only group who sees potential income improvement from hosting these things. They tie up a vast amount of land, require tons of volunteer & staff to function & nobody buying pit space is making a profit either.

I want you guys to succeed as much as the next fanboi. But the people needing to justify the budgets aren't being impressed.
Maybe it will come back in a year or two, but a total revamp based on collecting money from vendors & spectators is priority one.
Anyone can film the radness. But to make money off it...
What is GPA?
Grade point average. It’s a four point scale so these kids are doing well.
Pretty big news from Hope today:
Hope Technology Returns to World Cup Downhill with MS Racing
After seven years away from team sponsorship, Hope Technology is making a return to the World Cup Downhill scene—this time as a key partner of MS Racing for the 2025 season. Hope will be equipping the team with its latest brakes, discs, and wheels—proven, precision-engineered components built for the demands of World Cup racing. As MS Racing enters its 22nd season, they will have Hope’s full support to stay at the sharp end.
“Downhill racing has always been in Hope’s DNA, and we’re super excited to return to the scene with MS Racing. This partnership gives us the chance to work with, not only some of the fastest riders on the circuit but also with the team behind them under the common goal to develop our parts and go as fast as possible!” - Ian Weatherill, Hope Technology Managing Director
“We haven‘t been looking for just a sponsor, but a company where we can build a real partnership. And in Hope Technology we’ve found a company that not only provides high-end products, but that can also help us with new product developments and fast prototyping, which is key for high-end racing in the Whoop Mountain bike World Series.” - Markus Stöckl Team Owner
The riders' views:
Eleonora Farina
“I’m happy to work with the iconic Hope Tech brand this year. I always liked the sounds of Hope hubs and the components overall gives me the feeling of something built with love and passion. Stoked to start the new season also with them!!!”
Jacob Dickson
“It’s class to be on such a cool brand as Hope! I always remember growing up and seeing the bling hubs, and all that my dad and friends had, and that, I’ve always dreamt of getting.”
Tuhoto-Ariki Pene
“I haven’t had mine long here, I’ve ridden them 2 days on the trail bike and they are sick, its so sick to be riding a brand with such a history. The braking power is awesome, gives me time to brake later into stuff like corners. And just an overall solid brake, I think the fact they’re designed and built in the UK, give you you that quality you can trust.”
Based in Barnoldswick, UK, Hope continues to design, test, and manufacture all its products in-house. Returning to the World Cup circuit highlights the brand’s passion for the sport and its mission to develop world-class components. For more info head over to either Hope Technology or MS Racing, and give us both a follow on social media for updates.
2025, lets go!
Ooooo, when are hope gonna release the other color ways for the main body on the Tech 4 and V4? I want some red hopes!!
I'm rooting for the absolute hellion living in a singlewide trailer with his chainsmoking granny that's in detention drinking Robitussin so he can see that tiny pink elephant again.
I need the kid in a 2WD Nissan Hardbody, blue Dickies jumper & Vans on a clapped out 2019 Intense that's been primered to win everything on the regional circuit.
Or the kid in a bullet helmet & polka dot skinsuit. That kid rules.
Sure, people like to root for the underdog, for the kid who came from nothing (or worse than nothing) and overcame all that. And there's a lot to be said about people who just don't excel at school but are otherwise intelligent, hard-working, caring, or any other positive character trait you want. We like those stories because they are rare.
A race team is a business, and that means team managers are looking for people who have a high chance of meeting their goals. Having a high GPA (which is one of the few ways someone this age can show success) shows that these kids know how to focus, and how to put their energy into the right places. They all excel on the bike, which is the first criteria in being on a race team. The rest of the criteria are things that make the riders good representatives for the team and their sponsors. This is the type of person who take to mentorship, and will put in the work that is required by professional athletes these days, which often includes many things that are not simply riding a bike.
As a side note, putting your effort into people who have more skills than just riding bikes makes sense, especially since we are talking about juniors here. Go back over the last decade, and look at how many top juniors never made the jump to elite, whether due to an injury or any other reason. It's good to show that kids need a backup plan, with other skills. I think, especially in the US, there is this idea that if you can be an athlete (or artist, or whatever), then you don't need an education. Kids buy into that, then fall flat on their face when they can no longer play their sport.
I have to say I find it hard to believe that Jack was running prototype flight attendant bits without a contract in place. I know they marketed that team as ‘uncaged’ but there’s no way they would hand over prototype parts to someone without a non disclosure agreement backed up by some kind of legal or financial incentive.
Downvote away.
Idk, threat of a lawsuit over violating an NDA is usually sufficient, also that would certainly affect future contract negotiations with SRAM and other sponsors.
I always assumed the YT program was something along the lines of "here's a years budget at QBP to buy parts you need, or you can get your own component sponsorship deals".
Still definitely weird to see, my guess is that SRAM expected him on the program again but Fox offered more cash.
Unrelated:
It may need to wait for the 2026 rumor thread, but I feel like I can see Gwin tagging along with some non-Crestline team. Starting this year the points stay with the team so if he sets up an EZ-up next to a team truck a team would be willing to shell out for Gwin's points to help guarantee their spot for 27.
An NDA is a contract and they're not handing over prototypes to anyone who isn't in the program.
This speculation has me a bit puzzled because I thought it was obvious that Moir was one of Rockshox/SRAM's paid athletes? Surely he didn't choose to run a 170 mm seatpost...
And didn't he say in the video they ended the relationship?
My understanding of Uncaged program is that the athlete could choose to run whatever components they want. That would have left Jack free to choose to run full SRAM and benefit from a partnership with them on the side. The only thing that Uncaged guarantees is that the athletes won't be forced by YT to run parts they don't want to.
Just to be clear: you’re saying that not only did Moir not get paid by SRAM, but that’s acceptable to you? And you’re vouching for Chris Ball?
I enjoyed your sponsor announcement games but I’m not buying this. Too much.
Random guy thinks he knows more about the sport than one of the sports leading star athletes.
I mean, paid or not. He was the only one out of the three enduro riders on YT that ran 100% sram parts. Both Kasper and Texi ran some other bits on their bikes for personal preference (Trp brakes etc). But Moir ran the full RS/Sram setup, even a 170mm dropper even though his legs could have him run a 200mm+ dropper from another brand.
Thats what makes me think he had some kind of paid deal with Sram. The other guys also ran some blackbox/prototype stuff on their bikes, but Jack was often first. And he also spoke positively as soon as he tried a new part, exactly the same way other openly sponsored riders do.
The arrogance required to write this comment is off the charts.
Tuhoto's actual comments where more like... "Yeah, yeah, they brake well, yeah"
It's pronounced "nah, yeah..." 😀
I had to genuine LOL at that.... It's almost word for word how he described them to me when I talked to him at the race this week.
Dude volunteered two things I consider ridiculous and I’m asking for confirmation. Where’s the arrogance?
I think it’s fair game to question Jesse. I’m no pro mountain biker but from my own professional experience I’d say it’s pretty uncommon to know exactly what kind of a deal the guy at the desk next to you is getting.
That being said Jesse is a World Cup winner in the sport that we all love and frankly we’re lucky to have him here. Show the dude some respect
The arrogance is in your considering the two things as ridiculous. The words you use may or may not be arrogant, they reveal arrogance. Your defense of your behavior also reveals arrogance. Try disagreeing respectfully.
