It weighs less and has more power. As smooth or smoother than the competition (partially due to its much higher wheel polling). Batteries also have class leading power to weight density. But clearly they are selling well during the worst, most painful era the industry has ever seen because of "spreadsheet shoppers".

Very cool that the French Nationals results look so well-organized, and, more importantly, that they show each athlete's sponsor, no matter how "big" the sponsor is (I'm guessing that "Riding Family" is a mom / pop). It used to piss me off when I win / podium a race, and the race promoter's would omit my sponsor's (typically a bike shop) name from a results page--especially when...position 9 would have their sponsor listed because it was more important (a bike brand or something cooler than a bike shop). Well done, France.

As of 2026, if the National Federation listed the Elite and Junior Elites as two different "events" (which USA did), then both the Junior Elite and the Elite winner get to wear the sleeve.

And then next thing you know there’ll be position sensitive damping and I’ll be sitting here wondering why so much complexity has been added all to solve something easily doable with a linkage. Springs in series result in a crazy low initial spring rate unless you’ve got at least one very stiff spring in there. Half of what they help with in off road applications doesn’t apply to bikes at all. In theory it does let you pick an initial sprint rate, final spring rate, and transition point, but without winding your own springs the customization available is surprisingly limited.

I’ve designed this little 3d printed adapter, to use the Clik head onto the OneUp pumps: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2469641-oneup-x-clik-valve-adapter#pro…

Clik is so much better than Presta. Clik on and off, no worries about removing your Presta valve if you were using certain brands of pumps, works first time every time. It just sucks that you need to swap everything over and that some companies, Im looking at you One Up! refuse to make a cheap adaptor for their awesome pump/tool combos. Probably because they are owned by the same people making filmore valves which is a pretty cynical business move.

I also think that radial tires are the biggest innovation in MTB technology since modern geo.

I’m thinking about starting a new poll thread. It will be called “would you rather” The options will be: Would you rather take the time to actually read and learn about “ecvt’s” in regards to bikes? Orrrrrrrr…. Would you rather smash up an incandescent light bulb and smash the shards into your eyeballs? This thread is getting exhausting with gearbox nerds.

The test methodology in that Enduro MTB test leaves a lot to be desired. They measured the tires' rolling resistance on a steel drum (bad for measuring any tire) and with all tires inflated to the same pressures (which is bad for measuring radial vs. bias ply tires). Measuring rolling resistance on a large steel drum is like picking tires based on how cool the patch on the sidewall looks. And this section in their article about tire pressure proves that the methodology is whack. They found the same results for all brands of DH tires, too (Conti, Schwalbe, Specialized)...

Idk whats going on in this forum lately. Amaury: I'm using radials. Schwalbe: our riders are all using radials. Us: no one's using radials. My personal experience, riding them in every condition imaginable, including snow: the biggest improvement in mountain bike technology since we figured out 64 degree HTA could apply to non DH bikes.

Just took at Teewing Turbo Force for a ride. Its Teewing's 150/160mm bike with the Avinox motor. Very nice bike for $6kMSRP. Motor is so quiet and massively tunable. Under 50 pounds. 800watt battery. One of my local shops is now a dealer. For that price it becomes something to consider for sure.

Not rumor or top secret tech (or is it?!), but all this SS talk got me excited... Fellow Luddites rejoice. $5 in hardware and proper reuse of a destroyed derailleur: Keeping it about tech, though, this little contraption really made me want to try the Lal Supre Drive. I hope the Supre Drive or similar concept shows back up in the future.
