that’s what people been telling me about the m2s but clearly it was all talk and they haven’t been trying it. Do I think more is more? Absolutely not, but usability depends on much more than those numbers. There are cars that can bring 600hp to the street and others feel like a ride on a cannonball with „only“ 200hp, both accelerating within the speed limits. The usability of the m2s on the trail is excellent and I was coming from a point of view where I was searching for anything bad I could say, since the maxon AirS motor...

The SixFinity mules from 2016 and 2019 are super cool to see. That's a looooooong time ago, and I didn't realize they've been kicking this idea around for that long.

Incredible project to be part of, and an awesome creative escape for a contract engineer like Dan. Dan and I have worked on many projects together, and I’ve been lucky enough to spend some time in Champery with him the past two years. He’s an incredible bike engineer and absolute shredder. Getting to chase him down Verbier, Les Houches, Aosta Valley, Champery DH track the day after World Champs has truly been a treat. Dan hired me to take on the fabrication side of the project. Here’s some in process shots. Hopping on a plane shortly to go buy Dan...

A lot to unpack for me after attending the race. I'm glad I went for sure... My wife did not want to go to the race after almost getting very hurt by a crazy person sliding down the hill through a crowd with a chainsaw flailing on a leash. No photos from me, since I was solo I just roamed the track and took the experience in... And what an experience it was. Part of me loves the unhinged nature of the French fans... But another part of me is grown enough to see that many (easily 30%) towards the...

Did somebody already notice Martin Maes' floating brake arm on his Rallon? Don't remember seeing that mentioned, but it caught my eye in the Lawlor G-out video that Spomer just posted. Seen at one minute 15 seconds in. If Martin's on flat pedals, I wonder if that has anything to do with his thinking around anti-rise. The Rallon DH is around 60-65% AR, which is really really low, so if anything this brake arm would likely be designed to give it more anti-rise to make it squat on the brakes. I don't know if high or low AR is better...

Yeah, well, my kids were in the front line opposite side of the main stampede, just told them, let the crazy guys run first and the you walk down, you can be buried in the grass in a second.. so, I think the crowd rushing to the finish area, in a way is done OK-ish respecting the race and if you want to gamble it rushing down, you know what you are gettin in ...its common sense.. and this does not need to be policed too much... lots of people doing stupid things and getting carried out by paramedics while...

Or Sam Hill Champery in 2007. This mid 2000s era was arguably peak DH.

Yeah, bootleg climb road has no shade at all, and Sept is still very hot. It can be shuttled though almost to the end of the climb, but then again you have to start super early when it might still be tolerable. Re Rampage, most of the riding around the place seems to be an XC pedalfest with maybe a...

I'm not actually 100% sure of what I witnessed today. This was by far the most unhinged thing I've ever seen involving bikes. Conditions, weather, riding, fans, etc... all completely unhinged.

Posted this before, posting again... The old EWS points and event qualifier structure was a great example of a transparent, feasible ladder for talented and motivated riders to climb into the elite field. EWS points were earned at sanctioned local, regional and national level events each with their own points tier and value table. I remember on the website from 2018-2020 there were pages and pages of races you could earn points. An EWS license was about 30USD to get an account and start earning. It seemed that race organizers were welcomed with fair terms to have their races sanctioned...

The problem with the Trans races is that they exist more as a "vacation" showpiece than a real race. Not saying racing doesn't happen, but they are also designed to be an excuse for people to ride like hooligans in cool places for fun. I worry making them a part of some EWS title would not only limit people's ability to participate, but also change the overall vibe of these events in a negative way. That being said, events like the Squamish enduro are PRIME candidates to be incorporated into an overall series, and could be a prime model for...
