I've just picked up a new bike that came with Maven silver.. Having been a long time user of Formula Curas and more recently DHR-EVO, I'm really quite impressed with the Mavens. I had to do a bleed on the rear but according to the shop that's standard on new bikes. Have I got lucky, or are they actually not all bad at all?

I kind of agree that the music hasn't hit as hard lately, but that is based on my personal preferences. Also I like Vital polls. I do however, disagree that a poll should decide their music. It's an interesting comparison - I needed ChatGPT to politely rephrase my thoughts on Antidote and it came back with "Well equipped, but still learning." But I also think that Frameworks is far more technologically advanced than they appear at first glance. When you look at the tools they've used for development I have a feeling they are also much further ahead than the majority of teams. The thing I really like about them is Frameworks seem to have min-maxed the hell out of the team so instead of wasting money on shiny pits they are getting all the benefits...

I've been running the originals on my DH bike and really like them. I described them to a mate as a bit like the difference between clipless and flats Only drawback has been the metal bolt that scratches WHATEVER you lean your bike against so that's a consideration.

I got my first ride on these today. I'll get more in the coming week I'm sure. I paired them with a grip change to Wolf Tooth's lockon grips. For a little background, I have pretty significant neuropathy problems in both of my arms due to long running Cubital Tunnel syndrome. I've had surgery but the pain still exists when I ride and sometimes it still lingers after. My problems are somewhat the opposite of Joe's, his seem to stem from being highly athletic and having forearm pump, mine stem from sitting behind a computer since I was 8 years...

I ran the Assegai for years it was a great tire in the dry. Was really consisent and easy to lean over which is something I didn't find the Butchers did very well. It was quite wide feeling and may have benefited from a 2.4 width like the HR3 but that's splitting hairs. My only real complaint was how it got clogged up with mud in the wet.

While it's true that other parts of setup can cause the same issues, I had issues with the Assegai but not with other tires. The Assegai clearly works for a lot of people, but there are also a decent amount of people who it doesn't work well.

I hated the Assegai. It would inconsistently wash a couple inches to the outside mid turn when leaned over. It made it hard for me to commit to weighting the front end. On the same trails I've never had that happen with a DHF, Magic Mary, or Tacky Chan. I don't have an issue with tires with a big channel like the DHF. I want a tire to be consistent and the Assegai was not.

I hate assegai, absolutely no confidence at all in this. Butcher, Argotal (in proper casing etc.) are for now the best front tyres I tried.

Huh. AKA how to improve shifting performance at the cost of transferring leveraged impact forces directly into your $5,000 carbon frame. I see that's something they address but I don't see how it wouldn't increase risk to some extent.

I run Revgrips and bought a pair of the Wolftooths a couple of days ago. You could run them stock with Revs but there will be a big gap where the collar is so not at all ideal. I think you could clearance the round seat that is supposed to lock onto the bar to make room for the Rev collar but that will require removing quite a bit of material.
