Still find they are widely available at discounted prices. Why not just stock up?

It's been mentioned in the Bikenomics thread before that Specialized is getting out of clothing and now in the tech rumors thread that Specialized 2FO shoes are out of stock everywhere. Anyone have any viable alternatives that are as stiff, have the parallelogram cleat box, etc? Bonus points if they're like the 2FOs with regular version that's light (but still decently stiff) and a DH version with extra toe box and stiffness. It's been really nice having the exact same shoe but with slight differences for the 2 different genres. I realize any good options will probably be above the...

Yes, that has been known for a while Intend specifically makes a fork, and has done for probably 5 years, that accepts a sid damper/cartridge. (I believe I even posted about it here 1+ year ago) And mounting the flight attendant module requires only some filing to remove like 1mm of material from the FA control unit. Mounting it to a fox fork however, is not something i've seen before, and not sure how it works. And if you've looked at a flight attendant module, its also not very easy to understand how someone would fit it to a fox...

More durable? I had two pairs fail in less than 30ish rides total. The first pair delaminated at the toe and the second pair had a lace blow out an eyelet. Didn’t even bother to warranty the second time, I found freerider pros on sale for cheap.

Seems like a lot of brands are doing this. QBP has reduced there catalog and a bunch of their in-house stuff is low/out of stock

Damn, end of an era for sure. Best shoes ever but I see why selling shoes for $50 that are more durable than most everything on the market didn't work out. Really is a shame because the 2FO are the only shoes I'd actually pay industry prices for.

Some employees of Intend BC have also been riding Intend forks fitted with modified Flight Attendant damper modules. It's probably not too difficult to make Flight Attendant work with non-Rockshox forks.

Quite the contrast to sram sponsored enduro riders running flight attendant with it turned off just to please sponsors…

So anyone has an explanation for this? Flight attendant module on a fox fork. Dont think the Sid 35mm cartridge fits a 34 fox fork. So has someone modified a 32mm sid sl cartridge to fit a fox 34? Or is rockshox/sram doing something we dont know about yet? Apparently there was a flight attendant "event" yesterday at different dealers. I've heard that they are bringing out different levels of that suspension, so its not only on the ultimate stuff - Could they have made a flight attendant unit that fits other forks/brands as well..? Obviously it can be just...

When I saw your post about Accell Group going into insolvency, I thought Diamondback would be one of the brands listed in the insolvency agreement alongside Raleigh. I remembered Accell owning Diamondback (another brand that we've observed to be struggling mightily in this thread), but I didn't see it on the list in the Reuters or BikeBiz.com articles about the...

So, the industry starts trying to sell us on 32" wheels (- which are effectively a whole new eco system of parts and standards, requiring a pretty steep buy-in) just as the mountainbike sector stops growing. Coincidence?

Bummer. I had a few sources tell me they were going to pull out of the tailspin, but honestly I didn't see how they'd do it. This will be (likely) a very notable event for the European bike industry, but probably won't have a huge impact in North America. For those wondering, brands under their umbrella include Haibike, Ghost, Lapierre, Raleigh, and Batavus etc doing close to €1 billion in annual revenue. (with a B ) The biggest near-term impacts will likely be dealer losses, warranty uncertainty, supplier pain and another wave of heavily discounted inventory. Bla bla bla. Different...

A number of kids bike brands have shuttered since '22-'23 including Cleary, Isla, Frog, and I'm sure others. Globally, woom Bikes still leads the way. In the US, a brand like Trailcraft seems to be doing ok and have added models with larger wheels as kids age up. Outside of those examples, kids are seemingly going from balance bike, to e-scooter, to e-moto lately.

It’s interesting how quickly the market shifted. A few years ago it felt like there was too much inventory everywhere, and now finding specific models and sizes can be surprisingly difficult.
