Really really hope its a DH bike. It should be a punishable crime making that guy ride a trail bike with a dh fork slammed on the front.

There's this part, "Kyle will also have his hand in designing several forthcoming models, injecting a bit of the Natty Daddy into the Vitus gravity line."

debated team rumors or here, but chose here. kyle strait's mod'd slalom bike check (121mm instead of 140 rear, short-cage AXS derailleur and diff width front/rear rims). https://www.vitalmtb.com/community/VitusbikesMTB/blog/01/19/2023/entry/…

They better be. Should be standard on literally every single bike in existence. So far only Canyon managed to get it right.

Seems like a good time to bring these back up! Kudos to Santa Cruz for their transparency and feeding the tech rumors since 2008

That last sentence of it still being in development, definitely looks production ready. Unless SC likes to just sink money into frame molds and rework them, which sounds like a horrible use of cash. I think showing the development side of stuff and not keeping it under wraps is the coolest thing a frame manufacturer can do. So this is objectively a good thing, but it is definitely not getting tweaked past adjustments in linkage.

Rock Shox is making a 75x375 spring now (I made a bunch of 25lb increment springs last year): Now where it's available I have no idea. It is in production status so it should be orderable by someone.

eSports and school-affiliated eSports teams are a different event altogether than what you're talking about. I'm still on the fence, but I think competitive esports provide both an outlet and an opportunity for learning about teamwork, winning and losing, and so on for those who may not otherwise want to or be able to compete in traditional sports. Children with disabilities in particular are benefiting, at least in my area. This video game cycling, though, is another brand of nonsense altogether. I live in an area where indoor cycling is popular in the winter, and Zwift is like a religion...

As ridiculous as this all is, I’m stuck on the fact that a fully realized adult man weighed in at 127 lbs.

I saw it was only $10 and thought I'd maybe give it a go, but the number of hoops you have to jump through to compete is insane. Reading through the technical doc you have to film a pretty comprehensive power test and provide a condensed edit of it with the relevant parts, plus video of you calibrating your equipment (of which you need two power-cable devices – ie a smart trainer and a power meter), AND you have to film a weigh-in of yourself the day of the event. I get that they're trying to make it fair, but...

The variance from spring to spring is likely more than the 10-15 lb difference you're targeting.

Have you tried a 350 Rockshox spring yet? If not, I wouldn't rule out the 340-370 Sprindex, because all you know for sure right now is the wrong spring rate, not the right spring rate. Your bike might be a little oversprung or a lot oversprung with the 400, and you don't know your goldilocks spring rate until you've tried...

Actual picture of the USAC board dreaming up the esports national championship. I haven't read any of the press releases and I probably won't, but I'm dying to know if people travel to the esports national champs with their trainer bike or just tune in from their sweaty box fan garage Zwift setup at home like they normally do. I'm...

Two DH cassettes will have massive jumps between the gears for that range. At 500 % range and up, you need at least 12 gears to make it work. Yeah, there will always be some people that will say '9 is enough' (or 7 in this case), but in reality, jumps between gears above 20 % are not a fun thing to have. To make a back to back cassette gearbox work, you need to have 1 teeth differences between sprockets on each cassette. 2 teeth of difference (for example 11-13-15 etc.) gives 516 % range but 25 to 30...
