The impact on IBDs will be interesting (and sad) to see. Major brands are in survival mode and are royally screwing their loyal dealers in ways they haven't been screwed before.

5mm increase is "longer-travel fun"? Someone tell my wife. For those of us forced to use the imperial system, this is 0.197". The likely driver was matching 1:1 with more common rear travel offered by other brands. A 5mm increase on a bike that already has 120mm of travel is ~4.17% increase; on a 135mm travel bike, an additional 5mm is ~3.70% of an increase. I feel similarly about tiny increases in reach and wheelbase as well, though one could argue that in aggregate those changes are more impactful.

The news item about this on PB features a comment section with Dave Trumpore licking some UCI boots. He's straight pumped about the potential to two high-quality downhill series. Little gaslighting by saying he's not going to be negative, so if you're at all skeptical or critical of the UCI's plans for downhill, you're just not as worldly as Trumpore...

Man, that's too bad. His 2019 season was great until that big off. I hope he's past the TBI and able to do great things with his life. Honestly, he probably just bypassed a huge risk/low reward situation in opting out of a pro DH career.

I guess that's what was meant by the TBI. As far as I remember he had a concussion and the post-concussion symptoms never went away or something along those lines. If it's still the case, it sucks hard.

These mopeds cost as much as a decent used car and are still jank factories. Bike industry got us good. You should contact the governing body in your state that regulates the sale of motor vehicles for recourse.
