or team rumours if you're british. i'd imagine the riders and companies are discussing things, so let's start a new thread and to kick it off, Seth of Berm Peak is no longer with Diamondback.
Edited Date/Time:
If Discovery takes away how many riders get put in live feed as well or if they just do a post race show like EWS, that could be detrimental for some contracts. IMO
Starting Team Rumors with Seth is a very telling thing. Man how the world has changed.
-Ebike racing is the new washed up racer who still wants to be pro move
-Big S gets the interwebs and pays enough money for your tiktok stars to pay for legit video crew
-Bearclaw is back on the Big S after ditching Canyon(where is the drama on this one????)
Can we rename the other thread to "teck talk", the content isn't really rumours and I sometimes get confused between the threads.

hearing rumors from lenzerheide that registering a UCI team next year is $20,000 instead of the $3,000 it has been. no idea if there are additional benefits that go with the increase or what. again this is a RUMOR, but if so...
Typical uci. Would be devastating to a team like Neko’s. Can’t imagine there would be any return on investment. Only benefit to the teams that can afford it would be that others cannot.

How does it have anything to do with the UCI? They won't be organizing the World cups from next year. It's the ESO
Ok. What do you gett for the 20000€? 20000 is ok when you gett for 20000. If you pay 20000 and gett nothing more then for 3000 it would be sennsless anyway to participate. I mean there are new people involved. I guess their first move will not be to only fill their own pockets because they can. Hopefully

Good point, but I think the UCI will still pull most of the the levers....I could be wrong.
The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has selected Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) to deliver a new vision for mountain biking which will see the leading global media and entertainment company combine all its assets and expertise to elevate the sport and reach a new global audience. To deliver a completely new vision for the future of mountain biking, the UCI will harness WBD’s global scale and vast media platforms, as well as collaborate with two of the company’s specialist organisations. This will see Discovery Sports Events join forces with the Enduro Sports Organisation (ESO Sports) to deliver the organisation, media production and broadcast, promotion and commercialisation of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.
Crankworx, now is your chance.
Team up with Redbull and bring DH racing to the next level!
The UCI is right up there with the IOC in terms of corrupt money grabbing sporting organizations.
Mentioned in Wyn TV cut off will be 30 riders for finals is what is being pushed. Seems like they are trying to kill DH
Not a team rumor but I heard there might not be a World Cup in Lenzerheide next year. Apparently, even after over 27,000 fans showed up, an experienced set of organizers and staff, and good feedback from the team, next year's Swiss venue might be Valais instead.

heard it was gonna be verbier from someone in the organising committee of lenzerheide
Just listening to Neko on the Downtime podcast. Loic organized a meeting on tuesday to discuss the formation of a riders union (and there is a managers version in the works) to represent the riders concerns rather than just having one rep....who the organizers then ignore.
It appears it's just not us lot who are concerned with the ESO having free reign to carve up-sorry, take to the next level dh for the next 8 years.
The similarity to what's happening in pro surfing with the WSL (private owner) taking over from the ASP (competitor owned/led) is interesting to compare .Short version-entry field cut, mid season relegations, only top 6 go to one final event for the championship.....Nascar'esque bullshit.

Also, Spomer, how do I unsubscribe from the tech thread? I have tried it five times and keep getting emails all day long. ))

I think you might be right. Obviously no one knows the full details, but from what I understand when Jack was stooged for a ride for the upcoming 2020 season, Wynn Masters got him and Fab together and they struck a last minute deal, which I would doubt would be for more than 2 years (possibly only 1, but his results were outstanding)
I can only assume Canyon would be doing everything in their power (and they should) to retain big Kev, he deserves it!
