I did this for about a year with my first AXS post, which partially helped me justify the price. I got a 30.9 post which fit my Full Suspension bike, my Single Speed hardtail is 34.9 so I bought a shim from Cane Creek and it worked perfectly. I ultimately bought a second AXS dropper because I was constantly having to adjust the angle of the saddle during rides, the different seat tube angles, and the fact that one was a hardtail and one was a full suspension. #firstworldproblems

Thats cool! I've been working on measuring & collecting tyre data, and testing what I can to see the differences in casing, compound and age. Going to take a while to get enough useful data think its and area that is woefully underestimated at the moment, so will be interested to see what you find!

Conti is doing some really interesting things with their compounds and constructions. They use a much firmer compound as a very thin top layer that covers the ooey-gooey compound inside. Getting good deformation from the soft compound interior but increased durability from that outer layer.

My 2 newer bikes are a '22 Levo and a '23 Nomad 6. Exactly!!! I am considering one. Both my regular bike and ebike use the same size, not on accident, so $499 is closer to making it worth while. I can just switch the post and lever back and forth between bikes so it is like a $250 post! (selling point to the wife, gotta twist it in my favor) - you can only ride one bike at a time! I always thought wireless shifting & droppers were a silly waste of money until I got a frame with headset routing. Headset routing is so incredibly bad- not only is it a nightmare that takes 4x as long to route as normal internal routing, it compresses the cable housing reducing performance, your headset creaks no matter what you do, and two differen models of dropper have had problems with the cable housing requiring me to do the whole hour long process over and over again.

Going from EXO casing Maxxis tyres (Assegai/DHR2) to Michelin Racing Line Wild Enduros, I can't say I noticed the weight at all. The bike rides about the same in regards to liveliness, pop and the like. It's much slower going up and on smooth downs though as the tyres have a MUCH higher rolling resistance. What you report from Nino’s mechanic is representative of where my mind was at when I brought up this topic; it would be interesting to be able to infer from weight, if the tire would be more or less durable or if weight does not correlate. I'm not from Alabama lol. I'm not even from North America. I'm in New Zealand and there is definitely riding here that calls for the weirdo machine. Both products were interesting in their own respects. The Craftworks was an incredible show of engineering and packaging. The bike's kinematics were on an absolute knife edge. The bike feels perfect, and balanced, and predictable, and amazing (though distinctly very-high-pivot), even if the kinematic graphs that linkage spits out look quite interesting.
