And DH was also in Brazil before, in the 2000s (2006 or 2007). Peaty lost his bike on the plane and did the practice on a loaner. I think Matti Lehikoinen did good too on a Honda.

Oh wow, totally forgot about that. There was one review about the Deviate, I think it was "The Loam Wolf", where the was some criticism about that. But the 2 people I have talked to that own the bike told me it was never an issue. So yeah, I think you are absolutely right about all the contributing factors. However, Commencal and Forbidden have moved away from the singe high pivot to a virtual high pivot.

Because that's what actually pays bills. No bike related or even bike adjacent company has the dollars Milwaukee or Allstate has to sponsor an event or pay riders to race. Boring? Sure, but it's cash that can push events and riders forward. Imagine regional/national race series had the pull and resources to pull out Freecaster level media coverage and attract big names or keep local superstars racing longer into their lives because they had the dollars to do so. The B-practice crew hit on this a bit in the last podcast they did with Dak I think commenting on US...

He repeatedly talked about being able to make more money and get on better rides (for Frida at least) by racing mainly in the US and in different series than World Cup DH. I thought that was interesting. Dak seemed like he's mainly motivated by racing against the best competition on the biggest stage, regardless if there are easier ways to earn a living.

Pretty sure Luca's going into a new DH program with 23degrees with Cami, Benoit and the rest of the remaining Dorval team to re-invigorate Haro with their new VPP version of the Magnum .357 DH bike. But this is put hearsay to take it as you will.

Loris was running Conti tires in practice at Les Gets. My hypothesis is that they are testing various tires to develop the pirelli tires which probably are inferior at the moment.

Reminds me of Neko's Frameworks bike. Looks pretty modern for 1999, as long as it isn't too flexy. But it definitely might be too flexy with those pivots, stays, and rear QR. How'd these ride?

So what exactly do the word on the street and the spec sheet say about the E-Slash? Will it use the regular Slash’s high-pivot design? Again 170mm travel?

yeah thats the same system I saw. Sorry I wasn't trying to be secretive but at the time I saw that Fuel with the system we were still in "no talk mode" and I wasn't sure if it had been shown on NSMB yet.

just out of curiosity, i poked around trek's website, all their hardtails under $1500 are spec'd with shimano. maybe sram will stop focusing on budget/low end oem business?

The parent I saw was most certainly designed to hold a shifter cable. I can't say which bike but the the bike I saw with AXS that was being powered by the bike battery used a little block that clipped in place of the battery and a small wire ran from it into the shifter cable hole in the chainstay with a little rubber grommet.

Not to long ago someone posted a Sram Patent that showed a sram derailleur upper body piece that looked exactly like the new AXS upper piece that mounts to the UDH area but it had a cable port. Id imagine it will be GX to start and then Possibly a trickle down in the coming years when budget friendly bikes from manufacturers are equipped with UDH hanger systems. Maybe they’re doing a budget shock. Doesn’t have the same shock body as the 11/6. Looks like LSC only on the top of the reservoir there. What they need is externally adjustable HBO. The new RS SD coil for a 1/3 of the price is significantly better than any of the 11/6 I owned on several different bikes over the years.
