9/29/2024 11:14am Got to ride my countershox today for the first time: There‘s definitely a noticeable change in how the front end rides and tracks, not comparable to anything I could achieve with suspension setup or something else. The front wheel is in contact with the ground a lot more times and it takes the harsh impact out of big compressions. Only did a couple runs but keen to try it more over full days when arm pump becomes an issue. I want to try to make a mount for the rear swingarm to try how it feels on the unsprung mass...

9/26/2024 6:43am Well, I think it makes more sense on a road/gravel bike IMO I've had heaps of road punctures etc - can store wind jacket etc in the frame. Vs MTB... big rides are usally at the point of hip pack anyway or shuttle'd For reference i've used alot of bikes with storage, Stumpy evo, slash.... marin etc i've used it once, to put my wind jacket away on the EVO... and that was on a local ride. Never used it otherwise... id rather my tube be on the frame if i ever needed it(which i dont)... as most internal storage...

9/25/2024 2:01pm I mentioned it on the other site. Comes with DD casing tires and GX Transmission. Would be fairly easy to drop 2-3lbs from the wheels and drivetrain.

9/25/2024 2:01pm The only critique I can think of is that It would have been really nice if they used a 60mm stroke shock instead of 55. (I know that’s a i2i increase though) Those little shocks can get worked pretty hard with the sort of riding you can do on a bike like that. But otherwise it looks great. As someone interested in a 160f/150r trail bike they certainly caught my attention. Still holding out to see the Sentinel though.

9/23/2024 7:44am I don't think they actually left, idylle SC and DC were introduced relatively recently just after RS and fox came out with 38mm range, stoy3 is also one of the newer shocks on the market. Anyways, like to see them still going, my stoy rare is damn good shock and as reliable as they come.

9/20/2024 4:40am Fraezen copied Cascade chainguide/bashguard design with just a slightly different attaching plate so frame compatibility is better https://r2-bike.com/FRAEZEN-chainguide-FUEHRUNG-and-Bashguard-black-30-… So I can understand why Cascade would be angry/pissed when someone say their derailleur cage is a copy of Fraezen cage design.

9/10/2024 2:53pm Different from a tuning perspective. Out of the box, not very different for an average rider. A well tuned shock of any variant will always beat an un-tuned shock of another design. Ones twin tube (X2) one is monotube. If you want to learn more id go watch this video:

8/24/2024 9:31am My feeling is that we were all a little too obsessed with how a bike pedals, it’s uphill performance, etc. downcountry created a category that freed up trail bikes to be a bit more descent-focused. New stumpy and Bronson dropped a lot of anti-squat, and I think there is still a lot of AS on the table. I think bike lurker is right about hta, sta, and reach. I also think DH bikes are borrowing a bit from enduro and getting longer and lower, but most riders don’t want or need that. I personally want my enduro bike to be...

8/11/2024 11:13pm I think it’s also worth mentioning - since I completely missed that from the Albert press pieces - that Magic Mary’s are also available in Pro Radial versions now.
