12/13/2018 9:17pm only listen to owners opinions. The weight and drag are not an issue or noticed. If anything the weight down low acts as great balast making the bike work around it and keeping it planted and giving the suspension something to work against like a dampener. Drag is a load of shit. Compare it to any real world bike and there’s no difference. But the fact you can be in any gear at any time means that you save a to. Of energy by the end of the ride as your in a more efficient gear most of the time...

9/5/2017 3:32pm Not grip shift as you know it. Grip shift is great for a gearbox as you can change lots of gears quickly. I never missshifted in three years running a Pinion. It really is a misconception, try one, you'll see.

9/5/2017 3:27pm Being in right Gera all the time and shifting without pedalling far outweighs a slight pause to change gears. You can't shift under load with a mech either and thrash it out if you do. So many positive benefits to the Pinion over a mech. Your subconscious quickly sorts out how and when to shift so it's a non issue.

9/5/2017 3:25pm I have been completely blown away by the performance of this box. For me there is no downside other than cost. The delay in shifting is non existent. I can sneak a shift at the bottom of a downstroke 95% of the time without pausing and shift way more now than one a regular drivetrain. Being in the right gear all the time and perfect instantaneous shifting and performance is amazing. Centralised weight is awesome. My Taniwha feels lighter than my last bike. Gripshift is no problem. I just love going out and knowing my gearing will be perfect

9/5/2017 3:24pm So go check out the cinq5 Shift:R for the Pinion C-line range which was shown at the tout-terrain booth this year. It's a replacement Shifter-Box with new mechanix and two thumb shifters on each side of the handlebar to shift up to two gears up or down similar to their already available Shift:R Triggers for the Rohloff Speedhub.
