Screenshot of IG maybe? It's restricted in Slovenia...
Isn't some of the stuff on the screengrab for the emoto crowd?
You need to use some VPN service. 😊 Lep pozdrav.
The S4 and U4 calipers are the next step in their evolution. Same pad compatibility as before, Hope E4 and V4. The pistons are the most notable internal change while the exterior aesthetics are obvious. The leverage adjustment is improved and tool-less now—no more set screw mangling the barrel of the leverage ratio adjustment.
The LA master cylinder haven't been offered... yet. Current offering is going to be an LHP master cylinder with the S4 and U4 calipers
They're still technically in the testing phase, but pretty close to production-ready.
The new Devincis Troy and Troy ST are up :
https://www.devinci.com/fr/velos/montagne/troy-gx-axs-vert-matcha/
Yup. That's my bad for not going through all of the pics. Ha ha. Looks like there is another port in the headtube as well.
This forum always beats the embargoes ^^^ I love it haha But yes, Devinci has launched the new Troy (150/160mm) and Troy ST (130/140mm). Gone are carbon frames, replaced by hand-made aluminum frames coming out of Devinci's factory in Chicoutimi, Canada. Compared to the outgoing Troy (140/150mm), the new models give riders a more defined intended use while still representing a sign of the more-travel-more-capable times—the ST retains many of the geometry numbers of the previous model, while the Troy is now slacker, has more travel, and comes with mixed wheels. Devinci is leaning hard into the 'premium alloy frames made in North America.' The frames are backed by a lifetime warranty and give riders a solid frame with solid parts at a reasonable price. Both models are launching with just one build (more to come in Spring 2025), and the Troy retails for $5,549 USD while the Troy ST retails for $5,299 USD. Both feature GX Transmission, RockShox Ultimate-level suspension, SRAM Silver-level brakes (w/ 200mm HS2 rotors), SDG Tellis dropper (220mm on XL), and Race Face ARC30 wheels.
Some notable details:
- Troy and Troy ST share the same frame but with different stroked shocks (except for Troy ST sizes XS & S, which do share a unique frame due to their dual 27.5" wheels)
- Troy comes with mixed wheels
- Troy ST comes with dual 29" wheels (size XS & S are dual 27.5")
- A flip chip at the lower shock mount allows for mixed or dual 29" compatibility without altering geo
- Troy: 64-degree HTA (hi position) // Troy ST: 65-degree HTA (lo position)
- It has routing for mechanical drivetrains
- Gone is SuperBoost 157, replaced now by Boost 148 rear hub spacing
- There is now downtube frame storage accessed underneath the bottle cage
- There are two chain stay lengths for the entire size range
- Troy: sizes S-XL // Troy ST: sizes XS-XL
- Based on Devinci's provided weights (size M), the new Troy is ~ 3.9 lb (1.78 kg) heavier than the previous carbon version (35.38 lb vs. 31.46 lb). The new Troy is ~1.36 lb (.6 kg) heavier than the previous alloy Troy.
- The Troy ST is lighter than the Troy, at 33.95 lb (15.40 kg).
I had a Troy arrive a few days ago for long-term testing but have yet to hit the trails. The finish of the welds and bend in the down tube look pretty sweet in person. The down tube storage door latch is super easy to slide and remove; however, the opening is rather narrow. I had a Stumpy EVO nearby, and Troy's 'Shed' storage opening is almost 10mm narrower than that of the Stumpy. There is a tool bag included in the bike, and cables are neatly clipped to the inside of the downtube. I'm pretty jazzed up to see how the bike blends smashing rough trails with all-day comfort pedaling. It's not the lightest, and I want to know if that translates to a planted/calm demeanor descending and how it affects fatigue a few hours into an adventure. I love the idea of a made-in NA frame that's a bit more robust, matched with premium suspension/brakes and decent parts elsewhere at a realistic price. Let me know if you've got any specific questions/things you want answered as I get into testing.

Lauf comes out with a 120/130 trail bike
Out of curiosity, within the bike industry are embargo dates/times also restricted information under embargo?
I listen to a few podcasts with automotive journalists and they fairly regularly talk about when they will be allowed to talk about things.
Seems like a great option. I would have taken no storage over the weight penalty it no doubt comes with….still, great price for a made in Canada frame.
No Supa Boost™, frame storage, lifetime warranty, option for a 130mm mullet, and reasonable frame only price. Bravo Devinci!
The only critique I can think of is that It would have been really nice if they used a 60mm stroke shock instead of 55. (I know that’s a i2i increase though)
Those little shocks can get worked pretty hard with the sort of riding you can do on a bike like that.
But otherwise it looks great. As someone interested in a 160f/150r trail bike they certainly caught my attention. Still holding out to see the Sentinel though.
started a "cost of mountain bikes" thread here - https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/your-thoughts-cost-new-mountain-bike - shows vital survey data from 2010, 2016 and 2024.
I wish trunnion mount shocks be gone, too.
Really great looking bike, does anyone know if they will be putting out an updated Spartan anytime soon? I'm not a weight weenie but if I'm going to ride a 35+ lb rig, I would rather get all the travel for my sorta riding. As @Nobble mentioned, the small shock might get somewhat overwhelmed in the park/prolonged descent.
I mentioned it on the other site. Comes with DD casing tires and GX Transmission. Would be fairly easy to drop 2-3lbs from the wheels and drivetrain.
Disappointing Lauf went with 2.6 tires across the board when they're pretty unequivocal that they think 2.8 are better for the type of riding they created the bike to do. Cowardice! Shame!
Small version of the Troy ST only spec'd 27.5" front and rear is a wild choice. At least it seems like it to me.
Man cannot live on hardtail alone so I'm always looking at my next potential bike purchase. I've earmarked aluminum as a priority. Ideally 130mm-ish travel. Not crazy slacked. I thought I found a winner.
But then these jabronis come in with 27.5" front and rear? Scratch that bike off the shortlist.
I wonder if there's any way to go with full 29" on the small size...
Get a Norco optic or chromag darco
Reading between the lines on the new Troy, gunna call it ST and LT for ease. It seems they share the same frame.
The LT has a 185x55 shock (150mm) and 160/29 fork and ability for mx or 29 rear. vs ST with 185 x 47.5 (130mm) + 27 140 or 29/140.
So I'd think in theory that you could go a 150 x ~140mm full 29 if you feel like it using a 185/50. But i'm a bit confused why the small is 27 front vs the LT is 29 front, but the geo is consistent across. Curious what is different on the small requiring a 27 on the ST and 29 on LT.
Also, whats the rumor on when they'd release a carbon? A ~33lb mid travel bike I'd be stoked to get some lbs off of.
Looks like a rad bike and went right to the stop of my short list. Does anyone know if Devinci ever does frame only sales?
FWIW, YT will price match after a purchase. They did if for me twice. How long they'll honor it after purchase I don't know, but never hurts to ask.
Their website currently has a frame-only option for ~3k CAD on the new Troy. Includes shock, headset, and I think seatpost?
That 8 tooth idler pulley/motor drive/whatever the heck it is, is a curious "design" choice.
I noticed that too, but it might just work given that all the gears are inside the rear hub and the chainline is always straight. My guess is they were targeting "perfect" levels of antisquat in every gear with the transmission being in the rear hub like that.🤔 Is that how all that works? IDK, lol
Sorry may have missed the details but anyone know what’s pivots sept 30th announcement is about?
I think i missed that there was anything on the 30th but if i had to guess it will be something to do with the dh bike that one site already got for review.

Thank you! I definitely missed that. Looks like a new shuttle. Maybe a new bosch motor.
Here's a funny one for you: Norco is adding downtube storage to their road bikes but not the mountain bikes. Hah!
Well, I think it makes more sense on a road/gravel bike IMO I've had heaps of road punctures etc - can store wind jacket etc in the frame.
Vs MTB... big rides are usally at the point of hip pack anyway or shuttle'd
For reference i've used alot of bikes with storage, Stumpy evo, slash.... marin etc i've used it once, to put my wind jacket away on the EVO... and that was on a local ride. Never used it otherwise... id rather my tube be on the frame if i ever needed it(which i dont)... as most internal storage is small holes.
Id be happy to never have it on my bike and save production cost... and we complain about bike pricing....
