honest question though, why are you dealing with headset issues more than once a year? Is the included headset with through routing not standing up to use? Do you need to adjust all the time? What is it? I'm not saying I like how it's done. I don't get why they can't add some ports/holes?? And no doubt if you have to mess with it, that tourism is gonna be a PITA! BUT, you really shouldn't need to mess with it very often?? Cause I have bikes I haven't messed with the headset in 10+ years and my everyday...

Sure, because owning one means dealing with the crappy headset once in a year, vs how it rides on every ride brings clarity on what is actually important.

Jeebus, why don't manufactures just use something like that instead... DUH... Good find!! (still don't get the issue with some side ports/holes though)

I have one, best riding bike I have ever had. The headset routing is the worst thing and has made me not recommend this bike to others. I have since bought an aftermarket headset and still have the rear brake and derailleur routed through the headset. . I bought a wireless dropper and will eventually move to wireless shifting. If I can at that point I will use something to move the rear break to external, seen it done on a FB group for the Wild. I was hoping with the recent re-design I thought they would have ditched it...

They're still not the most powerful brakes on the market though... They're also heavy af, have a heavy lever pull and are ugly. It's all just marketing from SRAM as per

finally a shimano clip pedal that might actually contact a shoe.(some shoes do as they flex or deep cleat pocket's) or support oneup who make the best SPD pedal so far that you can actually rebuild.

Why do I think we will see some C3 riders set this up with a 27.5 front wheel?

I for one love prototype shit in DH or any other form of racing. I don't think we should put any contingency on it coming to the consumer either. It still comes down to the rider. Look at Spech, both Loic and Finn have been on the same bike and their results are different. Jackson's cleaning up this year on a fairly stock V10. Proto's keep things interesting and help push forward our small sport.

Again, in my opinion, we do not want this rule in pro racing for claiming Bikes. It would put companies like Ohlins or RockShox not wanting to make new tech out or brembo coming in with proto because someone can just take it at the next race. Level the playing field for the pro US downhill series or maybe IX access cup? But I love the Tech and I love how they’re pushing the level of the bikes each year at the World Cup and would hate to see that go away. maybe Junior racing could have some equipment rules...

Equally on the organizers of Loretta’s for allowing that to happen. What’s the point of a rule if you ain’t going to enforce it.

So yeah. How about a UCI Claims rule at National Championships? Only make it 3 times retail price. Loic shows up to race...you can claim his bike for $30k after the race. 🤣

Oh it was horrendous for the kid. So, he worked a JOB. Saved all his money up. Drooled over the Star Racing bike & just wanted to buy it outright b/c of the rule & he felt like it would make a difference in his own racing. Kid's got his own pro mechanic & both geek and wanted to race it and tear it down to see what it was like. Kid filed his claim correctly, Deegan somehow gets the kid alone in a team truck, pushing him that he doesn't want to do this, it'll ruin him. Muddying the...

Idk, I saw plenty of Demos at the Monster Pro this weekend and in Whistler earlier this year. Outside or racing or certain bike parks I don't see DH bikes from anyone in the wild much.

Plenty of Demos at Windrock. But not so-many at Wild Side. The issue is how many people can actually ride a DH bike for what it's intended--and if an enduro rig isn't a better choice for most people, at most bike parks. IMO.

Be interesting to see how these plastic gears last on such a powerful motor, but at least it seems like they have a gradual power tune so hopefully they have it all thought out! Don't love the idea of how many idiots are going to use that full power mode where they shouldn't!! But fingers crossed it doesn't cause issues!! Sure nice to see weight come down without loosing out on capability! Seems the tech is just about matured enough...
