9/15/2025 10:48am You may be right, I’m just a newbie in e-realm. Tried ~25kg DECOYs (29 and MX) and didn’t jam with them at all, they didn’t feel like a bicycle, if you know what I mean. Plus I love to jib, manual, bunny hop and all that. That was impossible on those mopeds. Will give Wild a shot. Thanks for directing...

9/15/2025 7:54am I don't know if you can get Ari bikes in your neck of the woods but I love mine. 170r/180f, low 23kg, absolutely rips the downhills. https://aribikes.com/products/timp-peak?keyword=&gad_source=1&gad_campa…

9/15/2025 6:31am Thanks for the hint! Wasn’t on my list since it’s ain’t mullet, but I’ll give it a try. Same wheel size feels different depending on the bike… Edit: oh, that’s quite a heavy rig!

9/15/2025 1:22am Need an advice, please! Searching for my first eeb with 150-170 travel to potentially replace Transition Patrol. Two kids, two jobs, quiet good riding skills, desire to do more laps after work (close to Alps) and occasionally ride trail parks with no lifts. Have a DH rig in my quiver. Open to any motor/battery combo (except for Fazua) but want...

9/14/2025 11:03pm This is where the secondary ‘intangibles’ of being a ‘professional’ come in. Dak also has personality, a story, and some magnetism. Things that make him a good ambassador for your company beyond just results. Sure, some of the young guns are wicked fast, but outside of Asa, we really know nothing about them or who they are. The Alran’s aren’t drawing me into to Commencal the same way Dak might to Mondraker. At the end of the day you need good (enough) results but as long as that threshold is met, other things matter too. I guess my argument is...

9/14/2025 11:02pm There might be a 15 percent reason why a Spanish company might be rethinking it's USA based business 😁 Daks a great rider and has made an impressive comeback but to play devil's advocate and assuming it's contract renewal time at Mondraker , Pinky looks like he could crack on and is still young and Dunne has won you 2 world cups so you'd probably want to keep them , so do you re sign Dak or do you look at those junior results and think blimey those kids are fast let's get one of those guys on a 5...

9/9/2025 3:01am Good sir, your comments will not be tolerated. I'm going to have kindly ask that you give ShapeShifter and the K.I.S. steering damper the respect they deserve. Seriously, couldn't agree more. You buy a YT or Canyon for the value proposition and absolutely nothing more. From a nonfinance guy, it seems like they simply forgot who they were. Never good to do that.

9/8/2025 5:14am I wonder how many people freaked out when Kaz said something to the effect of, "It's funny when people in the chat refer to Vital as the other site.. Like you can't say their name here.. We don't care if you visit more than one site. In fact, you should. Get another opinion before spending your money..." This was on the podcast within the last few weeks.

9/6/2025 10:11am I prefer Vital because people are allowed to have different opinions here—most people seem to remember we’re just talking about expensive toys for grownups on this site. I can’t go to pinkbike anymore because of the holier-than-thou attitude on all topics, and if you don’t agree you are treated like a leper. I don’t have extreme opinions by any means, but it feels like I do on PB since everyone’s reaction there is so vitriolic. Thanks for being real, Vital.

9/5/2025 9:37am Hey mate, I’m far from Windrock here in Germany but consider myself a skilled rider. BMX background and love for jumps are present, too
This year I’ve been searching for a playful and reliable DH bike for bike parks in Alps that I could still race occasionally. Ended up with a bargain deal on Nukeproof Dissent 297 AL in...

9/3/2025 10:46am Cool, but based on comments from Oisin and Andi Kolb it sounds like they are not even getting paid right now. If YT comes back maybe they'll sell to people who don't know, but they have lost so much goodwill. This isn't the first time they have dumped their riders/team. And we're just seeing the situation for the most public employees of the brand, lots of other staff are affected.

9/2/2025 2:59am I had actually started my son on an ebike... I was better for me not having to wait for him, more fun for him because he wasn't completely smoked all the time. As he got older and spent a couple of seasons on the high school team, he became a stronger rider.. Even after a couple of years away from racing, he still smokes me uphill.. He wants an ebike again, but more for transportation reasons.. The old man can still take him on the downhill though.. Remember, almost no newb likes the climbs.. We all went through that. It's...

9/1/2025 11:12am I haven’t heard anything yet. A few quick thoughts, maybe I’ll do a follow-up since this is one of the biggest question marks in the industry right now. At its core, YT has always been a cool company but what really set them apart was pricing. The problem is that their financials show this model was a bit of a house of cards, especially now. You can’t run a business long-term with EBITDA margins that barely clear, or even sit below, your WACC (aka, you are making less on your capital than you are spending on it). This is obviously...

9/1/2025 8:00am Vali’s post race interview was very negative. Even caught Gwin and the host lady by surprise. She said the summer break could not have gone worse and mentioned the team situation. Their truck was not in Les Gets. Clearly a lot more going on than we see, and none of it good.

8/30/2025 9:50am But it has to come with a prominent sticker at least, so it’s clear from the outside that this bike goes faster 😁

8/30/2025 9:49am Can you imagine how many they could sell if these were just integrated into a seatpost? They could make literally DOZENS of dollars. Every “fast” guy at the bike park would have one.

8/29/2025 8:54am The general consesus has been that mid-height pivots are the way to go. High high pivots brings some negatives. The problem with mid height pivots is that your idler (and maybe even chainring) has to be very small to fit everything together, which brings with it inefficiencies. This way they could package everything in a way that makes sense kinematics wise. 2chainz is a consequence of pivot height, not the other way around.
