11/12/2025 8:59am Aston and Cahal have their quirks but calling them mediocre riders is complete BS. Both of those guys rip. Also 435 chainstay on a modern XL mtb is a joke IMO. Especially for a frame that costs $4k.

10/24/2025 9:03am Having ridden a DJI powered bike (Mith) extensively, to the extent I still have an order in for one, and also having a Bosch Gen 5 bike, with the power upgrade, the post above covers the pertinent points. I don’t think there is that much variance in efficiency, all things being equal, but I don’t buy into the notion of “if it’s not got a DJI it’s not selling”. Bosch outsell DJI at a rate of thousands to one, they aren’t going anywhere with the latest motor. It’s really good & fractions different in the real world. The problem is...

8/26/2025 9:04am Thanks to everyone for the comments so far. Few things to note... GPS Accuracy: This is something I've battled for 2 months. I thought it was going to be a lot easier than it turns out to be. At this point, I'm within my edge 130 with respect to accuracy (maybe a touch below that). Is this good enough? I think so. Strava runs a few algorithms server side (once you upload) that are patented (ask me how I learned that haha) to smooth/clean up the data. Overall, accuracy will improve as I see adoption and can justify spending money...

8/26/2025 9:03am I'd like try it out. No heatmap. Turn off your heatmap. Its default position is on. Friday night beer league racing is my favorite kind!

8/21/2025 11:06am Finally! A proper electronic DH rear derailleur. I've been wondering when we'd be able to pay $1500 to ruin three derailleurs on the same rock in one race weekend. Can't come fast enough.

8/21/2025 11:05am begrudgingly, i've started a 32-inch wheel forum thread. not because i like the idea of them but because at crankworx, way too many people i talked to said they're not going away. https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/32-inch-wheels-and-mountain-bikes

8/21/2025 11:00am Chatter on new designs releasing just makes people avoid buying the current models because they are waiting for the new ones to come out. The more they prolong releasing new bikes, the more other brands will scoop up that market share from the previous brand loyalists who didn't want to wait 6 years to buy their next enduro bike.

8/21/2025 11:00am This!!! At this point I'm waiting more to the next gen of Fox38/Zeb than the demo/enduro itself. If it wasn't for the new suspensions coming up, I'd pull the trigger on a raaw madona.

7/22/2025 8:46am I would pay good money for someone to ride this thing down the stair set in the "Psycho snaping his norco chaos in half" video. Bonus points if they wear the same jeans. In other news, I did a mini road trip and saw a Trek Fuel (?)X in a store and on the sales floor on Sunday, ready to be sold well in advance of embargo date. Looked really good.... but $7,000 for an Eagle 90 aluminum build is a little rich for my blood.

7/22/2025 8:46am Who in their right mind is going to spend any money on a new e-bike from YT right now? If I wanted to get rid of several thousand dollars quickly for nothing in return, there are plenty of better ways to do it, such as setting it on fire or hiring a lawyer to claw back money from YT for other customers.

7/22/2025 8:46am That down tube size doesn't say Avinox. At this point in time I wouldn't give someone else's money to YT.
