5/8/2026 2:02pm Miss those days. Enduro was the hottest shit, clothes were semi baggy and not skin tight, no ebikes… ah yes, beautiful times.

4/27/2026 9:54am range is a big factor in the e-bike world. I think a MGU would hinder it overall.

4/27/2026 9:45am I think the biggest unique thing about Surrons and the like is that they are near silent. This is what lets kids get away with all kinds of shenanigans. Older generations had dirt bikes but you'd hear that coming from a long way allowing quite a bit less tomfoolery in normal public places, like parks, greenbelts, trails, etc. Heck around here during Thanksgiving last year there were ongoing issues of young teens riding Surrons into a local grocery store! https://www.imfromdenver.com/trending/arvada-teens-ride-e-bikes-into-ki…

4/24/2026 9:19am Then you didn't ride your actual mountain bike the same way a lot of us do. It's a vastly different sport. I have both if that matters.

4/24/2026 9:09am Maybe it's different at race pace and maybe it's because there aren't any leaves on the trees yet, but the course looks... underwhelming.

4/10/2026 9:44am I agree. To much power and weight. I’d take 1/2 the power and 1/2 the weight, in a reliable smooth and quiet package. With a range extender option.

4/3/2026 10:30am In regard to front axles and stiffness of inverted forks, the angular deflection of a shaft is defined as θ=(T*L)/(J*G). The key variables for axles are J (polar moment of inertia since we're talking about circles) and G (shear modulus of the material). J for a circular cross section is J(r1,r2)=(π*((r1^4)-(r2^4)))/2 where r1 is the OD and r2 is the ID (zero if solid). As for G, the shear modulus of steel is approximately 3x that of aluminum. Now for a comparison between 15 and 20 mm axles... Lets say we have a solid 15 mm axle and want to...

saskskier Liked a reply to forum topic Tire inserts - do you run them?
4/3/2026 10:22am No insert guy here. I'm around 265ish and have been on WAO Strife (dh) rims on dh casing tires for the past three seasons and no rim failures and no flats. I'm a pretty smooth rider, but ride pretty hard and live in the rockies and terrain can be pretty unforgiving. If that ever changes, might look into them, but for the time being, life is fine without them.

4/1/2026 8:29am Unfortunately I'm an idiot, so I'll answer your question even if it is sarcastic. I found a known value that's easy to measure, the rear brake rotor. I set it to 203mm (as mentioned in a bike check from my memory) 16.2cm = 6.377 inch, rounded up however the app used rounds things and also not a perfect angle. Closest match for phone size would be a Iphone 16/17 pro max at 16.3 cm or a google pixel 9/10 at 6.3 inches. I'm going to go with the iphone 16/17 pro max. I should touch grass. I'm also either going...
