jerrywillows Added a reply to Crank length/bb height . Is shorter/lower the future?
5/10/2023 10:20am long cranks for people with a low cadence and shorter cranks for riders with higher cadence seem to work best.

5/1/2023 10:22am I don't think sram will be able to ignore the mass market, most of the money is made there. But I don't see all of the features of transmission trickle down to nx or sx. I don't think the bike manufacturers are willing to change all their bikes to UDH and therefore 12mm through axel. If you compare what shimano did with linkglide, offering really good shift performance and durability at the cost of weight. I think sram can still improve their lower priced groupsets alot without going "full transmission", by offering cable operated shifting, only with improvements in chain...

4/24/2023 9:41am In college, I lived relatively close to Cane Creek's HQ when the original double barrel was created. I was fortunate enough to ride with a bunch of riders that were the first to get the shock, at that time North Carolina had multiple National Champions in DH and Slalom and they were all running the DB. Gerritt Beytagh even had a one-off itty bitty DB on his slalom bike. Ohlins US headquarters is in Hendersonville NC which is about 20 minutes from Cane Creek's HQ in Fletcher. I also seem to remember that Luca Shaw's dad worked for Ohlins USA...

4/24/2023 9:31am Looks like a photoshop job to me. The linkages don't make sense at all. That's a Fox fender on a RS fork. The really slack seat angle looks like it was from 1-2 generations back.

4/20/2023 10:22am Have seen 2 arms with cracks and 1 arm that broke during a ride with the rider luckily not hurt too bad. While 5dev offered replacement or refund fast, there is clearly something wrong with the design of the arm and since its a breakage that could cause a serious injury I would expect 5dev to recall the product and replace with the new version or refund categorically.

4/20/2023 10:18am I’m shocked anyone is trying to justify 5Devs actions. They knew they had faulty shit cranks on the market and continued selling anyway. I see exactly where Cam is coming from. 5Dev made excuses from the get go. Pretty scary those guys produce aerospace products. I will be sure to NEVER recommend let alone purchase anything these guys put out.

4/20/2023 10:18am I think the issue is that 5DEV seemed aware of the likelihood of failure and didn't do anything about it, putting Cam in danger by their own inaction. That's especially bad (unfairly or no) for a small company, where the rider has more pride in using their parts than a standard piece of kit. And once you learn that the company knew they had a bad batch of parts and did nothing, what faith can you have in them offering a warranty part? While Cam definitely came in spicy, I'd rather have liked to see 5DEV respond by talking about...

4/18/2023 8:59am when talking about rebound- shock velocity tracks with bump size most of the time. Agree compression speeds vary with shape of the bump and bike speed etc.

4/18/2023 8:58am I’d like to point out that just because a bump is small doesn’t mean shock speed will necessarily be small. If you’re riding fast, shock speed might have to be quite high for the wheel to track the ground over chatter. I have personally found progressive tunes initiate very nicely, but when too extreme can cause the bike to essentially be unable to respond to anything high frequency. On the flip side I’ve had issues with more digressive tunes where it always feels too firm except for when I really need it and then it feels too soft. Riding style...

4/17/2023 1:39pm Sorry to thread hijack @Primoz but I know you love it... Progressive generates more force on big hits and remains open/fluttery feeling on small bump. I like that tune on all bikes so far. Linear is a close 2nd- hard to tell which tune you have (linear vs progressive) unless you do back-to-back testing on the same trail/same day/same bike/same shocks... Digressive is basically the opposite of progressive and Linear splits the 2 tunes.

4/11/2023 9:39am Maybe the most absurd thing I've ever seen. I'm not against small batch, boutique parts, but anyone spending that money on something so frivilous needs to be audited and forced into buying food for the needy or something.

4/5/2023 9:33am Americans are funny, you can have the Nascar Freedom Jesus 500 sponsored by NRA , big pharma and like Busch light and people will say that this is acceptable and more than ok for kids/role models, while "porn" or weed (remember when JD Swanguen got a ban from racing due to having weed in his system?) are still seen as big bad evil and will corrupt the mind of your young teens.

4/5/2023 9:32am I understand your point and i'm not really defending either side but I could argue that Neko's helmet sponsor could be much more destructive than Lew's OF sponsorship. OF is a paywall site, no kid who decides to look up OF is going to see a ponanny getting stuffed with a cucumber unless they steal their parents credit card, but they can steal a can of their parents Dales out of the refrigerator. As you already noted, alcohol is a physical addiction and is much harder to stop than something like porn addiction, so shouldn't we have much strickter regulation...

4/5/2023 9:31am Serious question, is it ok that Neko has a Dale's Pale Ale sponsorship? Shoule parents object because kids could research what Dale's Pale Ale is and maybe later become alcoholics?

4/5/2023 9:29am OnlyFans have been trying to change for a while and even announced a ban on adult content at one point. The backlash was so quick and loud that they had to reverse the decision. Their quest is not altruistic though, they want an IPO and the only way they will get it is by breaking the association with adult content. Back to the subject of LB specifically, the UCI is headed by a bunch of rich white guys (I am one as well) who are embarrassed/upset by women taking control of their sexuality(I am not one of those). The historical...
