So they had a gravel trap on the test track for this very reason, I was able to test on paved road and gravel, worked equally well in both situations. I had to do a few runs on the gravel as I didn't trust the ABS, once I had the confidence to brake really hard it was faultless. Obviously flat ground is not representative of real world trail use, so would be keen to use it in anger on some proper trails.

Got to see the new Schwalbe Assegai/Kryptotal type tyre at Eurobike today on a random bike that it probably should not have been on. Knobs look bigger generally to me, though I could not check side by side with the Maxxis/Conti equivalent. Looks like it should be a good addition to the Schwalbe range.

Without defining the nature of an impact, force measurements would be required to know which transmits the most force to the rider. Now if you say the impact in question is a series of roots that are 50 mm tall, then it is accurate to say that the closer the deflection is to 50 mm then the lower the amount of force transmitted to the rider. Assuming it’s in phase with the roots of course. The graph in question here seems to show an extremely small root or something similar. An example of where you need to know force is...

Screw cables. I want my next bike's gears to shift with rods and pistons powered by coal fired steam. And I want my wheels made from wood thank you very much.

from jason's vital review which has exactly what you're asking..... "include tighter writing, more of the reviewer's personal voice, way less mealy language of it's claimed it might it may." to not include the marketing claims from a brand in a review seems the wrong way to go. putting down a brand's claim with a reviewer's experience could justify or negate the marketing hype. isn't that the whole point of the review? to see if the brand/bike is full of shit or not?

I should have been a bit more clear- I think the new stumpy that’s coming out is going to be fine if it has a yoke. The new shocks are tougher too- all brands. Older designs (bikes and shocks) are more fragile for sure. Monarchs were/are super fragile and had a high warranty rate. I think that is fairly well known. Keep complaining- some companies read this stuff!

Kings aren’t really high engagement. Not low engagement either but a decent middle ground. Never had an issue and I’ve broken a few hubs.

The advantages outweigh the small number of additional broken shocks. the yoke shock breaking thing is overblown imo. Ive seen warranty %s.

Is clothing technology permitted in this tech thread? Or does it have to be rumor related as well? Because I'm a stinky guy, but man this morning I just got back from a 3000+ vert ride in the sun and I sweated like Fauci at a Senate hearing but when I got home my wife commented how my merino wool jersey (51%, $25 on sale at EVO) had 0 BO smell. This isn't the first time this miracle has manifested. Also, I feel it is excellent in the cold (sub 55 degrees) and heat as well.
