8/12/2024 10:47am It'd be nice to keep this thread on topic "tech rumors and innovation". This thread has been so off topic the last few weeks / months even. Ask yourself "does my comment have to do with tech rumors and or innovation"? If no, stop. Heres a quick guide to others places to chat about various other hot topics. 8/8/2024 7:04am Having run plenty of demo days I'd say it's about 30% just having a go on an expensive bike for free, 20% just telling you what is wrong with the bike, 20% "just confirming that my bike IS better", 20% "I'm thinking of replacing my 2011 bike in the next 3-5 years" , 9% having one of the bikes on a shortlist but "I'm going to buy whatever I get the best deal on" and 1% actually going on to buy something from the demo. A couple a year was more than enough to never want to do it again.

7/16/2024 10:53am The Ripley of yesteryear is officially dead. No longer a light XC bike that could shred trails with 120mm. Now a 130mm bike that's pretty heavy and is actually the exact same frame as the Ripmo (just different clevis and shock between the two frames). This plus weird geo changes... Ibis trying to stay afloat/be profitable by selling two bikes with the same frame--just swapping a part and shock.

7/16/2024 8:50am WTF did they do to the Ripley? How much does a complete bike weigh? A size extra medium Ripley 5 frame with a Float shock weighs 7.3lbs / 3.3 kg. Our complete builds (size extra medium) begin at 29.43 lbs (13.3 kg) with all frame protection installed and sealant in the tires. https://www.ibiscycles.com/bikes/ripley#section-bike-specs

6/17/2024 7:14am Ibis supposedly launching a new Ripmo (and possibly other models) next month that mimics the design language of the HD6. REALLY quiet out there though which is unusual being this close to launch. Anyone hearing anything new?
