A Maxxis Kryptotal, which itself is a Continental Assegai (which was kind of a Maxxis Magic Mary, which was etc. etc. etc.), we've come full circle how many times now? Dissectegai?

I'm really excited for the XTR embargo to be over so I can get more miles in on the new not-a-clutch clutch mechanism on my primary bike. Very curious how it will affect suspension feel to have spring force instead of friction controlling the cage on my long travel bike with relatively high anti-squat.

I'm getting the new VTX in for testing shortly on my Megatower. Currently on the Vorsprung Telum. Excited to compare both against my stock SDLX Ultimate with HBO, which is a great shock in its own right.

Saw this EXT Vaia at Sundance loam pass event on an Ari, talked to the ext guys for a bit about it. He said it’s internally adjustable from 170-200, meant for heavy enduro and dh. He said they’ll start selling hopefully in November for around 2k USD

Between that post and the recent podcast some guys from Specialized did, I'm going to speculate that the shock uses a high volume positive chamber combined with a new advanced technology called a "bump stop" which engages near the end of the stroke. This high tech polymer acts like a spring but has no effect in the first portion of the travel! Those specialized guys are so far ahead of everyone that it has to be something radical like that, which no on else has ever done before

You likely don't need new seals. There was a blurp on Peter Verdone's site about the grease expulsion issue on V2 OneUp posts. It involved dilating the breather hole in the actuator. I took that and applied it to the PNW and TranzX posts on 2 of my bikes and it solved that issue and grime ingestion as well. Bonus, the posts were quicker to return and easier to drop. Ended up dropping 20psi in each to avoid any potential nether region pounding by the returning post. It was a marked difference and I can't recommend the procedure enough.

I think it’s 2024, both frame and shock manufacturers have reeled in the yoke issues and learned from previous mistakes. Everyone above did a better job than I can explaining the advantages- shock location, leverage rate, appearance etc. My 2 mountain bikes both have yokes- not too concerned.

I've always loved Cane Creek rear shocks because of the external controls. You don't have to worry about buying the right tune, if you lose weight, swap frames, etc you can get the tune to where your super flat Starling Murmur stays off the bottom, or your super progressive YT Jeffsy will actually use all its travel. That being said, having a custom tune done correctly rides so incredibly well. My EXT Storia rides like dancing on a cloud. They are $850 new right now, about $200 more than you can get a DHX2 for, and not only rides better...

Think it through once more. Last I checked Shimano's RapidRise derailleurs died a deserved death almost 20 years ago and are the only ones where your explanation is actually correct. In all other cases (on derailleurs where you PULL the derailleur towards larger cogs, so inwards) you're just going to slacken off the cable. The only thing prevent the derailleur from coming inwards under a hit is the top pulley hitting the cassette (which wasn't a problem until X-horizon 1x11 Sram derailleurs and Shimano nearly horizontal 12spd stuff). If you don't believe me, go to your bike, put it in...

Installed the Switchgrade on my Levo and have nothing but praise for it. Will be adding one to my G1 as soon as I can afford to. Great work Aenomaly.

I give this a thumbs up, not because of the situation, but the honesty that Evil is handling a very unfortunate situation. Its nice to see while they maybe Evil in name, they have a bigger heart than some other brands.

Again, why would any insiders be spreading news about a new model when they can’t sell out of the old ones? It’s exactly what I was saying. Also, there was an article on that other site about their patent for a new 170 mm bike…
