8/21/2025 11:00am Chatter on new designs releasing just makes people avoid buying the current models because they are waiting for the new ones to come out. The more they prolong releasing new bikes, the more other brands will scoop up that market share from the previous brand loyalists who didn't want to wait 6 years to buy their next enduro bike.

8/21/2025 11:00am This!!! At this point I'm waiting more to the next gen of Fox38/Zeb than the demo/enduro itself. If it wasn't for the new suspensions coming up, I'd pull the trigger on a raaw madona.

7/22/2025 8:46am I would pay good money for someone to ride this thing down the stair set in the "Psycho snaping his norco chaos in half" video. Bonus points if they wear the same jeans. In other news, I did a mini road trip and saw a Trek Fuel (?)X in a store and on the sales floor on Sunday, ready to be sold well in advance of embargo date. Looked really good.... but $7,000 for an Eagle 90 aluminum build is a little rich for my blood.

7/22/2025 8:46am Who in their right mind is going to spend any money on a new e-bike from YT right now? If I wanted to get rid of several thousand dollars quickly for nothing in return, there are plenty of better ways to do it, such as setting it on fire or hiring a lawyer to claw back money from YT for other customers.

7/22/2025 8:46am That down tube size doesn't say Avinox. At this point in time I wouldn't give someone else's money to YT.

7/22/2025 8:43am Not sure if the embargo ends today anyway, but you can check out the Ripley AF on youtube. Apparently the Eagle 90 spec is 4k USD and the lower tier one 3.4 k or something and geo is shared with the carbon version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqJBjwI8-JE The Vid also has a pic of the Ripmo AF, which looks actually pretty nice in raw alu.

7/18/2025 9:16am Also sounds like something good for Pon to buy someday. As an aside, I wonder how much longer Pon can justify making meat powered Cannondales?

7/18/2025 9:15am Having seen what happened with Rocky and knowing the pricing on the back end of what some of their higher end bike were going for even in the worst of it, people getting a GX level Capra or Jeffsey for $2600 at the consumer level is absolutely insane. That's someone trying to free up cash flow as fast as possible. That's a two for one Kona process level fire sale.

7/18/2025 9:15am I promise you- a SuperDeluxe Ultimate costs a lot more than $79 USD/Euro to make... That was my product line for a long time- I have been to the factory and suppliers where they come from.

7/18/2025 9:14am The purchase price of a product in no way reflects the margin to the manufacturer, especially in times like this. While @Dave_Camp has inside knowledge from the engineering side, I have the same sort of insights from the finance side. I can tell you with high amounts of confidence a lot of the pricing we are (still) seeing is not sustainable When your margins don't support your baseline cost to run your company + cost of capital, you will end up in bankruptcy. The only question is when, which is based on how strong your balance sheet is and how...

7/18/2025 9:13am Felt this wasn't a terrible time to post a screenshot of my little dashboard I built a few months back. Obviously, this only pertains to equity valuation of publicly traded companies but its still pretty dang rough in our corner of the economic universe. www.otherhours.com

7/18/2025 9:11am I find it very ironical and super hypocritical for somebody like the YT main guy to whine about ”discount wars”, when they basically were the ones who brought this aggressive pricing strategy to the market. Dude, are you for real??? I honestly hope everybody will be OK after this, but I can't remember all the direct-to-consumer brands being too sympathetic towards the bike shops who, at the end of the day, stay at the core of our sport. And the problem is that people really believe that they are entitled to that discounted ”high end bike” with top parts, even...

7/18/2025 9:07am I bought a fox dropper and tires from Jensen one time and they came unpackaged. The tires were white letter maxxis so I know they were OEM.
