Ok, the fact the page describing the benefits of membership is behind the membership paywall is extremely funny.

I keep on thinking I should subscribe.. how "road" is it vs these sort of articles (that I would totally pay for). The recent velo shenanigans have only added to that line of thinking.

Wish I could read the whole article. Thanks for the link. It's still staggering just how many people though people would buy 2x the amount of bicycles per year indefinitely during the COVID boom, and purchase rate wouldn't return to the long run average.

Crestline added swappable dropouts to ther emtb from their DH bike. It seems like a must have for any new frame from any brand moving forward.

As far as I know, the Nomad and the longer travel bikes are going to remain VPP for the foreseeable future. The new Tallboy is not really any lighter than the last Gen either, and the whole thing doesn't make sense. I've thought that Pon has been sticking their fingers into their brands a lot recently, not just SC, but GT, cervelo, and Cannondale, and it isn't going to work out for them. They're trying to set up SC as their answer to Specialized, turning them into similar scale brands, but it just won't work.

VPP is 4 bar Lets be frank here one of the biggest reasons they (and Intense) bought VPP was because Specialized had the Horst patent.

I don't get the move away from VPP, especially if they're going horst link like the Vala. I don't think the market needs another four bar trail bike, and SC prices are a little steep for selling what is effectively a smuggler with a swat box.

It’s BS that eewings are so expensive and yet don’t come with a lifetime warranty IMO. If they’re billing them as a “buy it for life” crankset then they should back that up with a warranty. I have heard of at least one person bending them.
