1/13/2025 4:49am For those playing along at home, here’s where we stand with the most ridiculous rumors so far… #3 - Phoebe Gale off FMD, going to Reece Wilson’s new AON team, after being prominently featured in the Orbea FMD press release. #2 - Aaron Gwin back to mentor the kids on lower budget Trek Factory after becoming a partner in Crestline bikes last year. #1 - Old man Dan Atherton returning to stomp $$$ DH podiums on a prototype belt drive after his most recent 57th at a 2018 Crankworx stop. There’s a few others close to the top 3, but...

1/11/2025 12:32am Kolb also has said them two practising together, at times he can’t keep up and or he uses him to gauge his pace. Might of been referring to the last race at the time, perhaps fortbill

1/11/2025 12:31am With Mr. Metallier you have to think it's related to the brands not having money for it anymore rather than not wanting to continue the relationship. No idea what he's like to deal with B2B behind the scenes but as far as clicks/exposure/talking up your brand directly to an audience, he's gotta be one of the best, guy's a pro. No surprise to hear he was able to replace them in short order.

1/11/2025 12:31am I believe you (of course) but can barely believe any brand would pay someone to race Enduro. Zero coverage and no return for the brands. It’s not worth it to pay those guys to fly around the world and for hotels. Sorry not sorry.

1/11/2025 12:30am half baked comment. obviously luck can be a major factor in downhill racing. but he also was seemingly the most prepared for that race on that day. winning doesn't happen by accident, even on a track you know well in conditions you excel in.

1/11/2025 12:29am I think she is on a mission to win a World cup race once again, and snatch 100K in the process... It would be great to help with some house renovating expenses haha. And I believe she will achieve it also

1/11/2025 12:29am Actuaaaaly, if you check aonracng on instagram profile they only follow 24 profiles, obvious ones like pb/vital/uci/gamux/manitou/hayes/ gates/reece/sleeper/... but there is also an interesting one in the form of "kdrajd", Slovenian club run by the same people who have been behind the Unior racing in all of its iterations since day 1. This is also a team Reece also used to be a part of. And considering mention of Uk-Switzerland-Slovenia rumors that makes a lot of sense.

1/11/2025 12:28am Aaron finished 12th at Mt St Anne on a body, bike, and suspension parts he hadn’t had much time on after nearly two years off DH bikes because of injury. It was wet weather for the race and he had semi-finaled 7th so I think he very much has the speed and ability to return to top step with a solid off season of weights and bike time dialing everything in for his team. He said he wasn’t back 100% and had a lot to do to be where he wants and still pulled an incredible result. I don’t see...

1/10/2025 11:05pm If I recall that brief conversation correctly, Dak was suggesting he was able to run lower pressures than normal with the new casing. My understanding of the way the shwalbe radial's work is you end up running higher pressure. I don't know anything about tires though so maybe they are and its just different.

1/10/2025 11:03pm Something everyone has to realize about UBM and UDH is that SRAM is in the business of selling OEM to massive bike companies. Anything SRAM can do to make the process faster and cheaper/better for the OEMs is seen as a win. In the case of Transmission/wireless drivetrains, that is a WIN for OEMs. Say they can shave -5-10 minutes a bike not having to deal with cables, setting stops, tension, etc. They can install a Transmission drivetrain in <5mins, vs. say 10-12min for a cable-actuated version. Now, multiply that times 20,000 MTB builds and you have million(s) of dollars...

1/10/2025 11:00pm What I want to know, amongst this discussion of a UBH, is who the hell is managing to strip their brake mount threads? Good lord. You pull that off, you probably shouldn’t use a stove or knife, either.
