2/5/2025 9:05am That looks like a Similar pile i seen of Supreme DH v4's. Also, While i've never been keen on Evil, my friend goes through a frame every 6-7 months. 200lbs and bang right by the downtube bolt... every single time(same place as VanCan's always broke)

2/5/2025 9:04am I worked at a dealer during that time too and it was absolutely as bad as the internet thought it was. I don’t buy the “pre-production” excuse. They all exploded, pretty much every SB5c and SB6c we sold. Front end, rear end, they all broke. At one point we had two bike boxes full of dead triangles.

2/5/2025 9:04am So one reason why I'm hesistant to share breakages of bikes online is that stuff sticks around forever.....I worked for a Yeti dealer at that time when the "pre production" frames had thin chainstays which cracked very easily. But it was just that very small number of initial bikes, I think we sold 2 SB6's from the batch and yeah they broke but the dozens that followed were fine in that regard (not perfrect bikes but the chainstays were actually fixed). But that reputation definitely stuck with Yeti which is a shame since it was such a small number of...

2/5/2025 9:02am Re BK's bike. Look at the angle of the rear wheel as he lands. And the audio is muted on his POV clip in his video when he hits the drop: https://youtu.be/smvc8h3F47Q?si=EsZcoCKF79KcXaHy&t=1098

2/5/2025 9:02am Its some form or air+coil shock they are working on. It was on an Alutech bike at the Craft Bike Days show back in november as well - I have a bunch of screenshots from it. But intend hasnt released any info other than its not being released any time soon (said a few months ago) They also have an airshock without the dual chambers in the works, so probably a twin tube design, for bikes that cant fit their normal Hover. Not sure if its something that we'll ever see - But this is one of the few pics...

2/5/2025 8:58am Maybe instead of strapping weights to the frame to make it heavier, they should add a bit more carbon? Curious to see if Pivot is as forthcoming about this failure as they were the prototype. Especially now that they've released this bike to the public.

2/3/2025 1:22pm It's also super hard to make TiN and other PVD coatings stick to aluminium properly without a lot of special preparation. They can be quite brittle so with the amount of flex a fork stanchion sees it would often flake off very easily. The coating itself doesn't even need to be that special for mtb products, its more important to get the clearances and surface finish dialled. Doing all of that and then applying an expensive coating is way overkill, especially mainstream products which is why chrome plating is being used on shocks like the Vorsprung Telum and most of...

2/3/2025 8:26am 32" wheels w/ Aspens, 0-offset stem and weird-looking fork. Lots going on here... (And yeah, I know 32" wheels aren't new but I think Maxxis getting involved is?)

2/2/2025 7:12pm Please take it to the dedicated thread already. We've heard from enough people that have read on the internet that gearboxes have drag. And no, DH tires alone are definitely a much bigger difference than between a crude bike and a gearbox bike when pedalling up.
