4/23/2025 7:18am So sick - love the color and the build kit is 🔥. Impressive weight too - mine is just under 40lbs with DH tires/wheels, 225mm SDU coil, and a 180mm Zeb. Only one ride due to weather and a long work trip, but I’m impressed so far after 4 seasons on the geared version. FYI, Jank makes a nice little 3d printed skid plate for the gearbox - https://jankcomponents.com/products/zerode-bash-plate?variant=441095415…

4/22/2025 7:53am New 3d printed titanium levers for the Piccola it seems like, recognized the shape from a set they showed at some bikeshow a while back Lets see if there are any other reworked bits. The piccolas has been out of stock for close to a year, not sure if they have built up stock or done something more. Release is apparently april 24th according to "derbikedoc" on instagram. Pic from a bikeshow, seems very similar to the shape in the video above.

4/22/2025 7:15am Welcome to the wild and wonderful world of the bike industry, where you get worked to death and paid next to nothing, but there are literal piles of new and lightly used parts, even parts falling out the cracks of the building. What parts are you running? Whatever's in the pile. At least until you get laid off next week.

4/22/2025 7:13am I'm more curious about the new bike rack that mounts to the front wheel of a car. Is it available for older 4 bolt hubs?

4/20/2025 9:48pm Agree. I think running a chainguide with a lower roller helps a ton, it eliminates a lot of metallic clinking noise of the chain tapping on the chainring as it bounces around.

4/17/2025 7:22pm Could it help if instead we start from riding posture? For example, start instead by refining our model of posture like the upright Jackson & Asa stance, the attack Amaury Pierron stance, Finn Iles crouching tiger, etc. If we thought about our own stance as the starting point then bikes could be properly fit to our measurements and center of mass, including optimizing weight distribution across the wheelbase, FC/RC ratio, stack/reach (including spacers, bar height, etc.) to maximize fore/aft stability and cornering grip? I think WC riders already do it, with custom stack heights, eccentric BBs (Bruni), mm perfect stems...

4/16/2025 4:25pm I think this is a pretty interesting point, although dynamic ride height is very challenging to discuss/compare without some numbers from a DAQ system, because like you said SAG doesn’t give the full picture. I remember discussing this to some extent with Craig at Avalanche Suspension when working through my fork tune. He commented on the fact that he would...

4/16/2025 12:36pm Yes. We had a standard that did not require threads to be cut into either frames *or* the calipers themselves. Roach a thread and you don't need to repair a frame, replace a caliper, or bleed your brake line -- just replace a cheap aluminum adapter. And don't get me started on how many slightly different lengths of flat-mount brake bolts are out there because every different chainstay depth requires a different bolt. Flat-mount brakes: brought to you by the same minds that think thru-headset cable/hose routing is a perfectly fine idea.

4/16/2025 11:29am A Chainstay with flip chips for length and headset with reach adjust cups would help riders dial these in I reckon.

4/16/2025 10:57am Weighting hands sucks. Such a not fun way to ride. I will transfer a little weight to my hands, but I want to ride through my feet. I think the rise in collar bone breaks caused by front wheel wash is caused by this trend in riding (especially when paired with clipless setups that I see as being necessary for that geo/riding style.) I like a full geo thread because most of the Long Rear Center folks are really just asking for bikes they can ride more upright and through their feet, which requires higher stacks, which lowers weight on...

4/16/2025 10:56am Alright, I’ll join the debate. The idea behind “proportional” is kind of useless IMO. Sure, we can say the FC to RC ratio is maintained, but what does that mean for a rider? We are assuming that as the riders height increases, so do all body proportions. 2 riders can have the same torso length, yet be different heights due...
