Walrus_Rider Added a reply to One bike to do it all?
12/18/2025 10:14am My preferred setup is just an enduro bike and use it to ride everything. Being on one bike means I was very familiar with the bike in all conditions and never need to adapt to another bike. The problem with this is not having a ridable bike when I break something or components are in need of maintenance. There were...

Walrus_Rider Added a comment about product review Murmur V3
8/19/2024 3:31pm This would be an awesome mud bike for people who ride in wet conditions frequently. As much as I love riding hardtails especially during the wet season, my body is getting to the point where I need some suspension.

Walrus_Rider Added a comment about feature Can a Pedal Kickback Denier See the Light?
8/15/2024 3:12pm Cool to see this. It's confirmed my feelings regarding pedal kickback. I used to run Hydra hubs on my enduro bikes and then switched to DT350 with 36 tooth ratchet. This is going from near instant engagement to 10 degrees engagement. There was a noticeable difference in pedal feedback. While not as consistent as running something like an O-Chain, going to lower engagement hubs can make a big difference. If you combine a low engagement hub with a high pivot bike there is practically zero kickback. Since I'm not getting paid to ride that's good enough for me. Plus, I...

8/15/2024 3:02pm THANK YOU for doing this test. I'm very interested in trying the OChain on my SB160. Interested to know everyone's thoughts on this other Williams product. Seems like the freecoaster function would also offer some benefits for kickback. https://www.williamsracingproducts.com/shop/p/zero-drag-dt-swiss-intern…

Walrus_Rider Added a comment about feature Inside Specialized – A Closer Look at How the Big-S Develops Mountain Bikes
7/24/2024 10:36am I'd argue that the majority of customers don't pay much attention to the chainstay length or most of the geo chart. They go into a shop and see a shiny bike. They sit on it and if the fit feels fine they buy. Only bike nerds are scrutinizing these things.

7/17/2024 2:55pm It looks like they're using the aluminum Stumpjumper Evo chainstays. It has the same adjustment.

5/13/2024 2:02pm I asked the Geometron guys and they didn't say specifics but said they made some geo tweaks. Maybe stack is higher, which would be welcome. That fat head tube will make adjusting reach or head angle via headsets a bit easier. Hopefully they retain the ability to cleanly run fully external cables.
Walrus_Rider Added a reply to Ohlins, Specialized, or Bruni's legs. Who really won Ft. William?
5/9/2024 11:41am Put Bruni on any podium bike and he's still going to dominate. Can't deny that his bike looks dialed though and certainly helps shave some time off his runs.
