The one thing you’re missing is that the pedal body doesn’t bottom out on the bushing, it bottoms out against a flange on the spindle. After about 1 mm of lateral movement. The spring doesn’t need to be stronger.

Sounds like you are a bright individual. Our design works and has been tested by a multitude of different riders with different skillsets in different conditions. That's why we applied for a patent. We think we have a way to make one of, if not THE most important contact points on the bike perform at at peak performance for a long period of time, thus enhancing the rider/racers experience on the bike.

when contemplating something like bike packing or extreme endurance, if your goal isn't to be the new fastest ever there isn't a point to being clipped in, unless it's your preference. However when unsupported shit happens and one shoe pedal style is far, far better and easier to walk a few KM to safety/help than the other.

A buddy of mine recently rode from perth to sydney, 4000km in less than 28 days on flat pedals, averaging 100miles every ride day. I had to laugh that they think this is a worlds first, literally every person who has bike packed or toured has done this feat on flats, probaly in birkenstocks too.

love this. everyone who rides them knows they are not the most efficient but they are fun. i did the bcbr on flats, it was pretty fucking hard. i can't imagine doing 100 miles in a single day. props to Jared!

I can relate I am 60, but I get out on the eMTB or Moto 3 to 4 times a week. It important to take care of your body as get older, making sure that you eating right and getting plenty of rest. I do plan on riding into my 70s
