TL;DR This might be Chris Canfield's new CF1 system, that is similar to a horts link with the cbf magic. I did some thorough research of Chris' Patents and Applications after seeing this, because it defienetly is not CF3 or Standard CBF, and it is not the CFZero that he has a pending applicaton for. But it could be the CF1 listed on the suspension formulas website that says it's coming on "Hellion" bikes, that there are no public photos of yet. It looks like a Vampire because it likely is without the adjustable pivot point/travel.

I've tried a lot of the coil forks on the market and I feel like HBO/air bottomouts/etc are generally unneeded for the type of rider that coil is suited for. The air trapped in the lowers can be used to adjust some level of progression, but IMO neither HBO or the other options really justify their tradeoffs. If you try too hard to make a coil fork as progressive (or close to) as an air fork then you end up with a heavy fork that feels like an air fork. Linear forks (and shocks) work best with higher amounts of damping like an Ohlins, or Avy setup, essentially anything with more damping than a stock rockshox or Fox damper. The extra damping dissipates more energy consistently through the stroke meaning you can still run a spring with great small bump and have less bottom outs as it takes more total energy to achieve a bottom out. But also, sometime you just clap your forks, it happens, it's not the end of the world

Vorsprung and Ohlins coil kits can change coil in parking lot with 1 or 2 tools. Coil is great but not always the answer, there are pros and cons.

This might be controversial and I'm not sure how to write this without sounding like I'm stroking off Sram but man they’ve really stepped up for their athletes. The custom brakes and calipers are such a nice touch and make the World Champs bikes feel that much more special. On the flip side, Shimano seems to be sticking with pretty standard (tried and true) Saint groupsets, and some riders are still running the now previous gen XT, XTR, or still current Saint brakes. Regarding the usage of mid valve and avalanche... Avalanche is using an open bath damper and not a closed cartridge. That in and of itself, is not relevant to resulting damper performance... however how you get there is greatly impacted. I digress, when dealing with an open bath damper, you're banking on foaming and aeration of the damper fluid. This means that the usage of a mid valve for damping is much more common/relevant and it makes the overall mid valve vs base valve damping force balance a different animal for open bath vs closed cartridge dampers. Intend Flash 35 Update The rain has finally come and the trails have been excellent as of late with the Flash getting some ride time and tuning. This is one of the best trails around, segment 28 of the Colorado trail above Durango. Roughly a 15 minute descent, great for suspension testing and tuning. Being very similar, I assumed that the air spring settings from the Edge would transfer over to the Flash. This has not been the case. The air spring setup from the Edge running at 175mm was much too linear for the Flash at 190mm. Currently experimenting...

My responses are out of concern for a rider who spent what I consider to be a large amount of money with my company, and not being happy with the results. That's not acceptable to me. It doesn't matter where the customer bought our product; I only ask as it helps with context. In the case of my first post, the rider was trying someone else's fork, so there's no more than I could offer.
