The gypsy comment we could have done without. Hopefully, it was an honest mistake of not realizing what he was saying.

It really sounded like this Discovery folks got him hook line and sinker. “All we have to do is get rid of all this riff raft and then we will make you a star like Louis Hamilton!”

The entitlement that comes across in Loic’s interview is hard to deal with. Calling privateers “Gypsies” and saying that they make the pits look bad… Sacha Baron Cohen didn’t do this good of a job in Ricky Bobby!

• I think we are gonna see some big changes happen at Trek Factory Racing for next year for XC, Enduro and DH. • GT bicycles ends their factory race DH program but Wyn Masters has been secretly in the back rooms working on keeping the riders on the same team with GT being just the frame supplier. The team continues a Privateer help system which helps get more sponsors involved for the team as they want that good PR.

Sram has a vested interest in maintaining the status quo. I wouldn't take a manufacturer's word as the final authority of anything. They are promoting their products above all else.

It's got a similar 5-4-5-4 block pattern with intermediate blocks on the 5 row. And it's not something currently in their lineup. So I would assume it's Assegai *inspired*

There are indeed images floating round of a new Wild Enduro tread pattern - they look ace, as well as the new dh16 (I think?) and I seem to remember seeing another tread pattern too but not 100 % on that.

The Xynotal looks to me to be pretty similar in tread pattern to the Dissector, so I'm not surprised it's not the grippiest tire out there on roots etc. Demoing a rim and having the tire hold up is a good vote of confidence! Definitely the kind of thing that's kept me on the DH22's for so long. I'd also say that the rolling resistance comparison is a good thing. I've pedaled a friend's Range with Maxxis Assegai/DHRII, and it felt a whole lot more sprightly than mine with the DH22's. Though I can't recall if they were DD or...

A friend of mine has a Xynotal. He commented it's about as hard to mount as a DH casing tyre while being the lighter casing, so it appears to be very tightly mounted on the rim. It's also bent/torn/crooked, possibly from mounting it (he usually mounts and removes tyres without any levers, so...). That can happen to more or less any tyre though, I've seen a few crooked Maxxis tyres too, but it does not instill confidence when a completely new line of tyres has this problem out the gate or from installation itself. The most important thing, he was...

If you look when he rides off after crashing in the finals at Snowshoe the light is still green. So I doubt its split timing. More likely green for open dampening???

I know this is the internet, but multiple things can be true at the same time. Could Gwin have been wanting to help a fellow 'merican? yes. Could it have not been possible to sign him for more based on the teams budget mid way through the year? yes. Could Dak have deserved better compensation? Yes. IFR could have "taken advantage" of the opportunity to sign Dak for less than they may have if the situation was different. "Taken advantage" does not have to be framed in the context of abusing a situation or person. It could just be that...
